Elder Scrolls because it has more than just war going on - nice graphics and more interesting in general.

If you're comparing graphics... then you're only comparing Skyrim to the other games and not Elder Scrolls vs Fallout

morrowind and oblvion had better graphs than fallout 1 and 2. so he is comparing skyrim to fallout 1 and 2

Morrowind and Oblivion aren't the first two games in the Elder Scrolls series.

Exactly, Fallout New Vegas had better graphics than Arena... so one over the other based on graphics should not be relevant.

i know, but they got worst graphs than fallout 1 and 2

pre skyrim it was fallout3. I liked the visuals and free roam of the game. The only thing I had to compare was oblivion, which I loved, but fallout was the better game for me. Skyrim changed that and now I'm back in love with the ES series. There's just something really polished about skyrims.

fallout new vegas was trash and I hate it. lol!

(also, I did proper review of it on my webcomic site, so if you're interested it my full take, check it out)

wha? but? NewVegas was better...
more of a fallout game anyway which explains the different feel :P

That gets debated regularly. Saying one or the other is better is an opinion, and people are allowed theirs. I prefer FO3 to NV. Couldn't even bring myself to finish NV whereas I put 150 hours into FO3.

that's what I hear. not having played the first 2, I had a different expectation for it, which didn't jive well with me. maybe if I had gone in knowing it was a different type more coherent to the originals, I might have had a more positive opinion on it. >\

Fallout new vegas was more fallout than fallout 3...
And oblivion was more TES than skyrim is...

I wish they kept the morrowind style for TES, with all the skills and qualities it had... We didn't need another fallout under different name... And judging a game only from graphics is like judging a TV just for it's design... There's much more than graphics on games, and that's why Morrowind will always remain the best of TES.

Fallout because I love guns and shits
And very more understandable since I don't read many folklore stories

I don't really like Fallout at all, but I only own Fallout 3 GOTY. So elder scrolls for me.

Kind of hard to choose, but i would have to go with the Elder Scrolls series. Because i grew up playing the earlier games in the series and i was hooked on Morrowind as a child.. seriously i played it for hours O_o Those are actually some of my fondest gaming memories/experiences :D

fallout 2 is better, but I like daggerfall for some reason.

I'll pick morrowind for the win.

Fallout 1 and 2 are better. They are more RPG, and less roamers. As such NV is also better...

If I had to choose, I'd have to say Fallout. As I've gotten older I've gotten more into Sci-fi, but back in the day I definitly would have been more interested in Elder scrolls. I used to play the shit out of some Might & Magic 3+4.

Don't think I ever played Arena, and still haven't bought Skyrim, but I enjoyed everything in between. Lots of fun in there.

Also missed Brotherhood of Steel somehow, but played everything else to death. Hmm.

Can't choose, they are both great. Sorry... :)

I LOVE them both. LOVE. But, I played fallout 1 and 2 when I was younger, they were AMAZING games. 10 years later when I heard they were making a sequel, I was ecstatic. When I played Fallout 3, and they had SO MANY references to previous games, I was very impressed. In addition, it was fun, open, unique... great story, great voice acting, great gameplay..and very addicting. I did not put the game down for almost 3 straight days, it was so much fun! For that, Fallout 3 will always be one of my all time favorite games.

If we're talking Fallout 1 and 2, they win...

Talking 3 and New Vegas? Elder Scrolls would win.

I like both, but I have to give the win to elder scrolls because I've always felt them to be a lot more immersive.

Both of them are great, but I prefer Fallout. I just like the post-apocalyptic setting much more, and some crazy characters and quests can be hilarious.

I'm gonna' say 'Fallout' series, when it comes to either one, I've only played Skyrim vs New Vagas, but given how Skyrim does my head in every-time I play the game and quit after 10 minutes, opposed to being able to play New Vagas for hours and genuinely enjoy it.

I did play an hour of FO3 few years back, and it looked quite good, only thing I find annoying with Fallout is its combat system :P

Fallout for me. Love 1, 2 and New Vegas.
But for Elder Scrolls I only liked Morrowind.

Fallout, because I don't like fantasy

Wut. Fallout is pretty damn fantasy as well. Ok, there is no magic, but there is no post-apocalyptic nuclear war-zone in real life.

Fantasy means it isn't real...

sci-Fi. The Fi comes from fiction, which is another word for fantasy...

supermutants are kindof like orcs, ghouls are a bit like elves. sqhishy rotten elves. the radiation and lasers are a bit like magic. guns are like bows, fallout has basically enchanted fullplate from powerarmor, and a chainsaw is like a +2 flaming sword. K9 and Skynet are like a wizard's familiar and dogmeat could suit a ranger.

However, Fantasy is a genre of fiction which is frequently associated with magic and other supernatural phenomena and creatures - not nuclear fallout and guns. Besides, you know what he meant...

Fallout 1 and 2, neither Elder Scrolls nor the latest Fallout (3 and NV) have the character development, dialogue and sheer raw dark humour both the first ones had.

To me it's like comparing a book to its movie counterpart.

This. 10/5 post. Give this man a goddamn medal and end the thread. Fallout 1 & 2 have more depth than the entirety of the Elder Scrolls. Seriously, stop what you're doing and play these now if you haven't bothered to do so already.
