How old were you when you started gaming?

SORRY for no 0-5 poll option, me and Poll don't get along very well... If you did start at that age - feel free to say so in the comments, I read each and every one of them! :)
ALSO: Anyone who started after the age of 25, feel free to tell us, don't be shy, I am very much interested to hear your stories how it all started out

Thought about it, but I was like... How many of us would say so? :D
If you did begin at that age - please do tell us in the comments :)

I think I was 4 when I started playing on my uncle's DOS pc. Of course I didn't know how to launch the games :D

I was about 4 years when my father bought for (me? I'm not sure) #1, but it was not Atari, its called Video Computer Console

Sears had a branded Atari 2600, which is what I bought around 11 I guess. Been gaming every since. TRS Model 1, Commodore, Apple 2e, Tandy CoCo, yada, yada.

I am truly sorry to hear that... :(
My grandpa died when I was 5 too; he was a great man, although, unfortunately, I never got to know him either. :/

C64 ftw! Better than 6C4s... Don't put too much of it though, it'll blow us away

Greeeeeat choice! :) My first games on PC were a wee bit older than those (they included the first two GTAs :D ), but as I recall, my first PC game was Dune 2000! :) And I loooooved still do Army Men and AOE :D

Oh, milady, deem not my poor judgement as a token of ill intentions or lack of manners...
But that is truly grand! Which game did you start out with? :)

I started with Tearaway on the Vita but got hooked and even built myself a complete gaming pc after I discovered there are things like walking simulators/exploration games. These games with todays graphics are just amazing. Tbh I must say I spend most of my time chasing nice games instead of playing them. It's hard to find games interesting for an adult with the skills of a 3 year old without shooting or fighting. And then I discovered SG and a new addiction was born :).

Oooooh, nice!!! Thank you very much for sharing with us all! :)
Well, yes, it must be hard (atleast I don't know many walking simulator games are being made that often), so it gotta be tough. Also, seems you found already what suits ya; maybe experiment some more with other games? There are many games out there which leave to you the control over the pace of game itself. :)
(Addiction to SG? I don't know what you are talking about! :P )

Community? But, but, but... I don't have a problem! Is this a prevention?
Alright...
My name is Druss and I am an Inquisitor. Alright, alright, I am also an avid gamer. Yes, those creatures that lurk at night and day in front of their monitors, playing games and whatnot.
And I never have enough games...
There.

Hahaha, awesome! Most of the people I know started out with that game :)

Thanks a lot! :)
Played a bit when I was under 10, but really started playing more when I was around 12. Gothic II Night of the Raven, never forget.

No problemo, glad you liked it! :)
Gothic is one of my all-time fav series! :) And always will be! :)

Which one did/do you like the most?
For myself I played a lot of mods for G2. :p

I loved all of them, well, maybe G1 and G3 the most, since I started out with G3 and then moved on to the first one. I love that no-class system :D that is the most logically realized character system I have encountered.

Thanks for the giveaways and best of luck with your channels. :)
I was 4 when I played my first "real" game (besides the kid-kid ones), which was Super Mario 64 with my dad!

My pleasure! :) And thank you very much! :)
Those are memories we never ever forget, right!? :)

Yeah I have a lot of fond memories playing video games with him/him watching me playing and backseat gaming helping me. ;) Then as I grew up my brothers and some friends got into it with me, as well as still playing with my dad which is pretty cool. :)

Yeeeeeeah! That is awesome! :) Your brothers are very lucky to have you help them out when they got into gaming :)

Bump!
Shit, we got a Code 206, serious train wreck. 0 fatalities, but possible spine injury. Dammit, Nelson, how the fuck did you not see the train coming?
Okay, enough nonsense q: Thank you for the train! And here's to reaching level 3 soon, with more level-ups to come! By the way, that's really nice of you to be giving away a game that's on your Wishlist!

I think you should stick with being a gamergirl, but it's your call, afterall :P
jk, that's a great resolution! It is awkwardly similar to mine, wonder why!? :P

My first memory is of me playing the original Legend of Zelda with my mom (or at least watching her play and pretending to play too...), so that should tell you that I was pretty young lol. Around 3-4, I think.

Well, obviously, since it IS better!
joking as well! #allgamingisgreat

I started when I was 4, I think? We had a PlayStation and my brother and my sister had Gameboys I borrowed sometimes. We also had a PC and I played some kind of treasure-hunting game. I don't remember the title, unfortunately.

What matters is you had fun! :) Nice moving up on the gaming stations there :)

My dearest fellow Steamgifter,
I am writing you this letter in hope it finds you in good health, well rested and in good mood.
I am grateful for your efforts in saving this and many other realms from utter destruction on a daily basis, stopping the enemy in its advance, battling hordes of monsters infesting this and other worlds, and most importantly – being there for the weak and weary. I know, it never stops. It just goes on and on.
I am also thankful for your other efforts, such as: Extending the hand of friendship here, providing help both on site and in co-op missions which required you to do so, or simply helping out the new faces around here.
Battle on, my dearest friend, battle on…
Yours truly,
InquisitorDruss
