Completely different types of games, you can't compare them. But TL2 is not out yet so yeah. Trine 2 is an awesome game though.

Trine II: 8.5/10, EXTREMELY fun game, very very fun with friends but it can be quite a pain if your teammates are idiots. The graphics are absolutely stunning as well and it's just nice entertainment.
Did not play Torchlight II yet but Torchlight I was a 7/10. It's pretty fun but very repetitive after a while. I'm guessing Torchlight II isn't going to be much different, but it's going to have COOP.

I have to say I hated the first one. I played Diablo II for hours and Torchlight was bad in comparison. I think it was poorly balanced (my character was extremely powerful) and the gameplay was repetitive.
But I'm looking forward to the sequel because I'm pretty sure the developers learned a lot from the experience and the game had a lot of potential. So I'm quite glad to see the sequel is so much bigger than the previous one.
Ps: 300 monster models, wow.

And this is why, right now, Torchlight II is better. But if you already have the first one, I suppose you could give it away. Or just buy Trine II.

Trine 2 is lovely, never thought a small game like this can be so nice, Trine 1 is nice also but not as nice as Trine 2, don't know about Torchlight, but it looks like a decent game also, without a good story though. But hey, it's a 16$ game.

+1
Torchlight 2 beta was pretty nice, I had more fun in there, then in Diablo 3 guest pass times.

Well, the original torchlight was great, if a bit lonely. Trine 2 is... well, it's Trine 2.

I played the first of both these games and while I want the sequels (I can't afford to spend money on games right now) if I had to pick I'd go with Torchlight 2 simply for the fact that I feel there's more content to explore and more enjoyment you can get out of it. Also I have a personal liking of hacknslash RPGs. I in no way am putting down Trine 2, however, because the first one was delightful and I would love to play that one too. However, the first one was relatively short and I didn't want to replay it.
So, Torchlight 9/10, Trine 8/10. I'm sorry that I can't offer a specific opinion on the sequels, but I can make an educated guess on my time playing the first games.

Played the beta of Torchlight 2 [and bought a preorder] and its fantastic but I also own Trine 2 and its soo much better than the first.

I've been hoping others will comment on their personal views (those who have played), how the two games compare to each other? Which one should be purchased first, rate from 1-10 please. Thanks for your input all.
