Psychonauts and Costume Quest. No blood and gore, colourful, not extremely hard, yet not that easy. Great story, perfect voice acting, unique characters. I believe you won't allow your sister to play, because you will play them instead of her, that good those games are.

Kids these days love zombies. Get her Left 4 Dead.

If she likes puzzles, try Tiny Bang Story or maybe NightSky.

That is if you don't mind her wanting to strut afterwards.

You didn't say how old she was so it is kind of hard to make recommendations, But I've been trying to find some for my niece and nephew as well and these are some of the best kid friendly conclusions I came up with on steam.
Snuggle Truck
Peggle
Space Ark
4 Elements
Roogoo
Puzzler World

Not sure if they have been suggested but
Your doodles are bugged
Zen bound 2
World of Goo
Blade Kitten
Aquaria
Audiosurf
Chantelise
Recettear
Crayon Physics
You probably own some of the above already so you can either click these and check out the trailers/have her check the trailers or check out your library.
I can also suggest Botanicula,Samorost,Machinarium which are cute and interesting but she might get interested for a bit but get stuck and lose interest fast later, even though they are beautiful. What games has she liked so far? Sorry if you have answered that somewhere above :)

Just posted about it before getting this far into the thread. Nice game, Wii version is much better. I actually had performance problems with this game on hardware that's about 100 times better than the Wii (well, maybe not 100, but GeForce 8600M and Core 2 Duo).

My little sister gets bored when she gets home from school while I'm still at my college, so I want to get some games for her to play. Any suggestions?
P.S. - She's already a pro at coloring somewhat in the lines, so really hard puzzle games should be a breeze for her.
