TL;DR version: Following kravan's suggestion below, if you go here and sort by "Set Price", you get a fair estimate of the most valuable Booster Packs for your gems.

---///---

I have no life...

So I averaged the value of the cards (using the best BUY order currently available, so I could sell stuff immediately) and divided by the necessary number of gems per booster pack (I only looked through my Game Inventory). Here is the list I produced, expressed in Brazilian cents per GEM BAG.

(Of course YMMV, depending on time and how long you wait to sell your stuff)

  2. Deponia: The Complete Journey averages (110)
  3. Dark Fall: The Lost Souls (110)
  4. 99 Spirits (105)

So the number behind every entry is the cents you would get if you crafted boosters for that set for 1000 gems?
Either i'm completely misunderstanding the way you've calculated all this or the data is too old to be accurate, 99 spirits for instance has a open buy order for 15 cents yet it's 400 gems to craft meaning you'd make 37 cents as opposed to the 105 in your post.

His steam profile suggests he's from Brazil, maybe he's talking about Brazil cents?

Sorry, I should have said Brazilian cents (I changed the OP to reflect that).

For example: the BUY orders I saw for 99 spirits had the following values in R$ cents:
(14,16,16,14,12,15,13,14,12,13,15,14,14,14,13)

which averages about R$0.14 per card. So 3000*$0.14/400 = $1.05. I think it is the same calculation you did, but I screwed up and forgot to say it was Brazilian currency. :)

Ah right, is the minimum price 3 BR cents on the market for you? that would mean that it's way cheaper for you to mass buy items to craft gems then it'd be for Europeans.

Indeed, minimum price is R$0.03 for anything. I did buy some Gem packs for that price when they were still tradeable.

This could help as well.

Oh, dear, I feel kind of dumb now... That is indeed immensely helpful. :)

Since the Gem cost of a booster pack is inversely proportional to the number of cards the game has, it is just a matter of picking the best "Set Price" and you are done! Thread closed...

Or, wait, maybe not! Is there any way to get them to show BUY prices?

That should be the Booster AVG price, roughly. It divides the price by 3 to give you price per card in the pack, but that's close enough.

You can still buy and craft badge nevertheless.

How do you do that? When I look through the list, I only get games I own?

You can go to http://steam.tools/cards/, sign in with your steam account, filter by "Owned games" and sort by Set Price. I am not sure if it is the same (I imagine those prices are SELL prices), but it should give you an idea of the best values for you.

good that you guys post this everywhere and dont think about that everyone will just do that.
that lowers there prices in the end for all boosters and makes it less profitable.

sometimes people should just keep infos for themselves.
