Oh, I'll play it the way I play all the Life is Strange games. Waiting a couple years for it to get cheaper.

(Though, I have True Colors in my library but haven't played it yet)

Alternate reality shenanigans seems like. Definitely going to be pissed if its ending goes the way of LiS though.

I've played every LiS so far so this one likely won't be an exception but I won't buy it til it gets a deep sale or in a bundle like True Colors.

I'm not sure. I adore Life is Strange but they didn't bring Max for all these years so that they can present new characters and stories which I respect a lot. I really don't want to see them ruin her character.

According to a friend her new power already exists in the comics, but Chloe is there and she's the whole reason she has them. In that case are they taking the comics as canon(which makes Chloe's survival canon due to her being the reason that power was discovered) or are they going to let us use our original ending, which would mean either:

a) they'd need an entirely new scenario for her powers to be discovered
b) they would just keep her alive, forget the choice?

If that's the case, why wasn't she in the trailer then?

I'm super excited but also a bit aprehensive on this game.
For starters, in the trailer there's no mention of Chloe at all, which is a bit weird when you think of the original game - instead they introduce this "new best friend" Sofi or wtv her name is, which isn't in a single previous game, so we know 0 about this best friend. I hope there's at least mentions of Chloe in game, even if that character is dead and buried on the canon of the LiS (which idek yet if that's true or not, cuz thats not what I chose "in my canon").
Now, giving Max a second game is absolutely incredible cuz I rly wasn't expecting it at all. I thought the characters on the original one were already pretty much done, which was sad to me in a way but I understand why, they can't go on forever.
Also, I'm worried I'm setting my expectations too high. For me, the first game is one of my absolute favorites of all time, so in a way I'm expecting something really good too, which might hurt a bit if the game ends up being average or worse. And the last thing they did was the remasters of the original games and they worked like an old laptop trying to run Cyberpunk (but at least they didn't change the story).
They changed her power too, since she can't go back anymore, but ig that makes sense when you look at the last episode, which was pretty much a poorer version of her power on this game.
So we will see, I believe they are going to do a small livestream in a couple days to talk a bit more about the game and explain some things, that might clear some of my doubts. Regardless, I will def play the game.

Max is one of my all time favourite fictional characters, but im not willing to pay 50 euros for it lol

That's like a $20 price difference for Deluxe edition just so that you could play the first two chapters 2 weeks ahead. Ridiculous

I loved the original, but I'm kind of scared the new game will ruin her character for me? Do we know if it's the same voice actress?

Also: I agree, Max doesn't look like Max anymore. How could they screw that up so much...

Max does look a little off and sounds like a different actor but that's not a deal breaker. If they manage to put in a soundtrack as good as the first game, I'm in. I generally love these kinds of games.

Whuuuut?? How did I not hear about this until today??
I won't judge until I have played because they have, so far, managed to both expand the franchise and do justice to the characters and "legacy" of the first game so I'm keeping the faith and I'll be cautiously excited.

Just because Max is hot then i may buy it, if that is considered a valid reason ^^ But, i really and thoroughly enjoyed both the first and before the storm too. Overall they are too bashed imo, for all the wrong reasons. Also i must continue number two at some point.

I've played all the other Life is Strange games, so I'll probably get it at some point. None of them have lived up to the first game, so I've tempered my expectations.

time shift powers around a character whos adventure is kicked off by a friend dying. Sorta feels like a rehash of the first game at a basic level (concept-wise), which in turn makes it feel like a cash grab rather than the usual fresh ideas and concepts i've come to expect from dontnod... shame.

At some point. But not at release. It's never advisable to preorder or buy day one in this age of gaming.

I do like how they let Max get older with the rest of us. It'll be interesting to see how different adult Max is from teen Max.
