I think he wants to feel exclusive. Go to Steam Support and send a ticket about your complaint. And then feel good about changing the business practices of Valve. Hey, maybe you'll get hired.

all these reg'lars. op made some valid points and you appear to have lowered your level of intellect to join in/support their really pathetic flame war. or i could be mistaken and you genuinely do agree with them... hell, i don't really know you.

I logged back in just to say thanks... idk what their problem is, they don't like an opinion, so they flame the shit out of it and the person expressing it. Kinda shows a lot of whats wrong with peeps in the US, and all over the western world nowadays.

The new Magicka DLC wasn't on sale this summer. Also didn't see Dungeons Gold being on sale.

what is the link of summerseal ? it says you don't have permission etc. to summersel.com and www.summerseal.com

my guess is Steam is not that much in control, those are things done with 30 lawyers on each side with 200 pages contracts... PER GAME...

Steam gives us more chances to buy cheap games - someone calls it disappointing.
I get the point about sales being repetitive but thanks to that we get the chance to buy something that we might have missed or had no money for before (like at summer sale games showing up in community choice, timed deal and daily).

well, it -is- disappointing to see that there are NO new deals i can buy to add to my library. Sure its nice if you missed a sale during seal, but dontcha think it takes away from some of the awesomeness that is the summer sale? It used to be, if you missed it, you can bet it wouldnt be on sale again at those huge discounts til at LEAST the next major (summer/winter) sale. Now its just... whatever. It's not much of an event. I promote the summer / winter sales to friends who are still on consoles or dont game much, and now it just doesnt hold as much pull.

Wanna really laugh go to the bottom and read that shit fest lmao.

you fail to see what is obvious to many. It is NOT more sales. it is actually LESS sales. But you have a small mind and you can't understand that. Nothing said on these forums can improve your mind. It's just the way the world is. Too bad for you if you dont like my post, all i can do is laugh at people in this world who gobble up whatever drivel is fed to them

Repeat sales for popular items does help with selling stuff. It helps the consumer in general too, as they get another chance to get a desired item if previously missed.
Most of the major games don't get as big of a cut during daily deals and stuff, so it's still worth waiting for Summer and Winter sales.
Just because repeat sales are a problem for you, does not mean it is a problem for the consumer in general, or for the producers of the games.

Well, the Counter Strike games are 66% off for this midweek madness, while during the Summer Seal they went 75% off, so I wouldn't say the Summer Sale is pointless.
At the end of the day though, you're getting some very generous sales, so what right have you to complain about that?
Comment has been collapsed.
the new counter strike sales are primarily about promoting CS GO, course they're not gonna put that as deep of a discount since its a new release.
consumers can """compain""" (even though op is more of an observation / suggestion, and not aimed at valve as valve doesnt read this, its more of a 'wake up' call to arms for consumer community) about whatever they are buying... its their right to. In fact, everyone has a 'right' to complain about anything they want in any nation with freedom of speech. What right do you have to question that?

IF YOU'RE TOO DUMB TO UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS NOT UP TO VALVE TO DECIDE IF A GAME GOES ON SALE then you're a dumbbbbbish.
Also, the world doesn't revolve around you. People can be on vacation or busy during the summer or holidays. So a repeat sale is perfect for them.
Comment has been collapsed.
you are wrong. Let's put this in a way that stupid people can start to understand. 14 publishers with 35 different games want their game to be the daily deal. Valve negotiates and decides which one will be the daily for a given day using whatever factors they deem fit. It's steam. it's their service. they decide what goes when. of COURSE the pub has to propose it, and agree to it. no SHIT. but the final decision, on WHAT and WHEN, is Valves and valves alone. how could it be any other way. God you ARE dumbbbbbish. no one SAID 'the world revolves around me". I made a post on the forums, and if you dont like, it, idgaf you can eat some dick.

...so then it goes on sale during the summer/winter sale instead - the very sales that you're saying have somehow been devalued by not featuring games that haven't been on sale! Do you even know what point you're trying to make any more?
Comment has been collapsed.
Enlighten me. If a publisher wants their game to go on sale it's going on sale. If it doesn't make a midweek/weekend/daily deal then it's going on sale during the summer/winter sales. You're also the only person in this entire topic that seems to be agreeing with OP so either there's a legitimate point in this shitfest hidden away somewhere to the extent that only two people are capable of seeing it or, more likely, OPs rantings are baseless, inaccurate, incomprehensible and as a result everyone is several more shades of stupid for having read them.

no, i just don't get where you're going with what you're saying...
and to be fair, just because a majority believes in/likes something doesn't make it right. majority of people used to think the earth was flat, majority of germans were just dandy with nazi germany, majority of little kids want to be/marry justin bieber...

This is the only way to deal with retards like this one. Once someone disagrees with him and provides constructive criticism, he starts using caps lock and saying we're dumb, while he tries to make himself feel better about himself. Just ignore him. Or troll. Either is fine.

I am not complaining. Now I can get some games I couldn't be arsed to / couldn't afford back at the sale.
Bought the 4-pack for Payday™ The Heist, because I was lacking funds for it last month. Now all I need is a discount on Dungeon Defenders so I could get some dirt-cheap DLC.

Okay, in the case of exclusivity (which seems to be the hidden detail that OP is saying), Summer/winter sales you could buy 5 games for about 30 dollars, or spend $50 for a publisher pack and get 30 games.
Daily/weekly sales don't exactly have rock-bottom prices, maybe 30 to 50% off at the most, for older games. Can't get much of a deal like you could in the summer/winter sales.
That exclusive enough for you OP?
Comment has been collapsed.
not true, most games are 75% off, it's the newer games and preloads that have the smaller reductions. there were a few games that have been back on sale since summer sale. all the indie packs were, skyrim, fallout franchise (though i think that did have less of a reduction than in the summer sale), payday and i could be missing some.

Now that I'm actually looking around through the store, they may have overdone the sales just a tad... But, I guess, you'll never see these sales outside of Steam (as far as I know), so I'm happy.

Carpe Fulgur Collection
Fear Collection
Stalker Bundle
Saints Row The Third
Batman Franchise
^didn't see those go on sale in the last few weeks, so the Summer Sale was beneficial for me. The lack of achievements and whatnot was a bit of a letdown, but other than that, I'm not really sure what your argument is about. Would you prefer Valve stop putting games on sale after the Summer/Winter Sales?
Comment has been collapsed.
Lols, its like a mass arguement. I read some of it, and I agree with someone. Im sure Valve doesnt have control of every single game. and besides, what if some people, werent on for the summer "sale"? They get a second chance to get a game, that they missed out on, and it sounds like to me, your only wanting the games you want, only thinking for yourself, and no one else.

Thats what I was saying about exclusivity in my earlier post.

Seriously what is the point of the summer sale if near everything that was in it goes on sale in the following weeks? It's getting to the point where they dont even matter, the awesomeness of the summer/winter sales is gone because its the same as all the sales following it. It used to be an event, if you missed it you sucked. Now, who cares.
Next time I dont think ill be spending so much on the summer or winter sales, because they are no longer the only times of the year you can get games at rock-bottom, now you can get rock bottom whenever. And no achievements was a further letdown.
So, steam manages to travel further down lame lane
EDIT IF YOU'RE TOO DUMB TO UNDERSTAND THAT THIS MEANS REPEAT DEALS < NEW DEALS then you're dumbbbbbish
