AFAIK, it only works Steam -> Origin, not Origin -> Steam.
Sorry.

Actually, Origin also sells Steamwork games. Of course, in that case, installing Steam and using the steam key is actually mandatory.

I think nothing works from origin to steam, most of the CD keys work the other way round though. I bought Burnout Paradise on Steam and it registered with origin.
I don't believe this would work as a method of sharing games to play co-op though, just in case anyone gets ideas :P

i can tell you the other way, i bought crysis warhead on steam and used steam key and activated it on origin also

If you didn't know all EA games no matter where and when you got them can be activated on Origin. (at least 99% of them)

Anyone know of an actual list? Or do I have to start compiling it by myself?

These games activate on Origin (reply below with other games that worked for you and I'll add to the list):
If any of these games don't activate on Origin, you'll have to talk to EA Support through chat, for older games, you'll need to create an account on Pogo.com
Some games, you'll only be able to find the key through regedit: NFS Undercover example
Made a thread on Steam Support so that people can also help: Clicky

I have to admit, I did have to spend some time with chat support, but so far so good.

Me too, at least for Mass Effect, Crysis and Warhead. I'll install Shank, Shank 2 and NFS Undercover when I get home and search the registry for the keys. If they work I'll add them to the list.

Wow! Sims 2 isn't even on Origin! Although I've heard they'll add Carbon to your account, and NFS Carbon (free collectors edition) isn't even distributed on Origin.
Did Valve catch on that we were activating EA STEAM games on Origin and remove the CD key functionality? I remember there was a function in the library to show the keys, but it doesn't even show up now, atleast not on EA games.

You should add that pogo.com doesn't work for Europeans.
When I tried to reddem my ME1 key they forced me to make such an account only to say:"Oh yeah, I forgot that this doesn't work for your region!" A few minutes later support staff kicked me from chat while he "was trying to add it"...
Got it then after ~5 days after I wrote a nice email to my local support team with a lot of screenshots and personal information. They invalidated my old key and added a new one to Origin.

I bought The Walking Dead on Origin and the key activated fine on Steam.

I don't think it works the other way around, if you got it on Origin, it works on Origin, if you got it on Steam, it'll work on both, at least that's how I think these EA games work

I haven't try using my retail Crysis 2 cdkey on steam. I'll try it later. Activated it on Origin alright.
Edit: Didn't work on Steam.

OP for Mass Effect and Crysis/Crysis Warhead at least, you'll have to talk to support on EA's side but you should create a EA Classics account on pogo.com. Just a heads up.

Walking Dead, Tomb Raider, Sleeping Dogs and a lot of others would like a word with you. Because you're wrong.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2. I bought it on Steam, and I used it on Steam, but I tried Origin as well. No go. I found out any EA game after 2009 should work. I went to EA Support, and they put in the game into my Origin, even if I will never play it through Origin. :)

I remember a friend asked me to give him my key for Crysis 2 and it worked on Origin even dou I brought it on STEAM.
I have also brought Dragon Age Box which activated on Steam but I was able to activate it on Origin as well.
I was wondering would Spore that I got on Origin would work on Steam?
Anyone tried this, and do you know of other games ?
