I'm just curious who has multiple accounts, and why you have them. Wouldn't mind seeing a few of the more impressive alternate accounts either.

With my own alternate account, I use it for farming bundle card games when I already own it on my main. Also let my family use it for playing Plants VS Zombies (which they are playing at this moment).

Using extra keys to farm cards... I dunno, seems like if you'd just trade the keys, you could get a lot more out of it than three measly cards or something.

1 for idling, that's all. Also I use it to store stuff when my main runs out of space/receives a huge number of items in a trade.

I only have one, I dont see the point of having more. (if you do it for the cards, simply sell the game, you dont need the game twice)

But I like cards! Also, I can't be bothered setting up sales, adding people, negotiating, keeping a trade thread updated etc. I'm lazy. Then I might get scammed too. Seems a lot of effort for little reward to me.

I have 4, planning to use them for card farming, but I haven't gotten them to be eligible for anything yet, so whatever.

Three accounts. My main, my wife's (the "family account"), but she has used it very little, and a third which I opened because of Steam Family Sharing just to partition games so there's less chance of collision if two people play at the same time (only I currently play, but I did let a friend game on that account, so it's not completely theoretical, just mostly).

I have two, dunno why I made the second one, but the first one is holding some groups I no longer want or want to reserve, also holds all my junk because I like my inventory to be clean.

Ultimately I'd like to give it some non-abusive bot functionalities (1:1 card trading for a group I'm in, etc.) as well as use as an account dedicated to hosting servers, but that's a far ways off :p

i created a couple accounts for my kids with very childish games (fairie solitaire) and the odd free game inside (l4d2 lawl), which i sometimes use as mules as well.

Only one, I have too much money and time tied into this account to even think about thinking about having a second and/or several more accounts. I don't get banned from games for acting the fool, nor do I get banned from Steam altogether for shady dealing... hence it would be pointless.

I've considered creating one for card farming, but it feels like too much work.

My wife and my kid have their own steam accounts but they basically play only one or two games. I use them to farm bundle leftover cards. My wife's account has 252 games lol... I also sell all those cheap unwanted backgrounds and emotes on the market on my wife's account, keeping my own listings simple.

I have 2 for card farming. I get cheap bundle games with cards, from Tremor. Have gotten a decent amount of boosters. Last 2 weeks were good, got 2 boosters for the eXceed 3rd game. Those cards go up to like $2 at times. The game only cost me 200 coins.

I have two alternative accounts, both with different creation dates.
I have forgotten why I created one of the accounts but the current one I created due to a huge wave of phishing attempts on Steam at the time, I took the safe way out and made a new account for a major purchase (a purchase I nowadays regret, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2).

First account, nowadays used to communicate from my tablet as I'm in school. Originally purchased so I can get bored of CS:CZ and CS 1.6.
Second account, I played a fair bit of GMod and TF2 on this one.
Third account, I think I'm fairly unique in having made the newest account my main for reason that aren't a VAC ban or a forgotten username/password.

P.S. If you cheated in a multiplayer game and had to make a new account due to a VAC ban; shame, shame, shame on you.

I forgot the username, password, and e-mail address for the first account I used to get Portal for free, so I just use the one I made to get the free Team Fortress 2 instead.

It is Steam's FAULT that I am force to have 2 accs. So when my family is using my main acc, I can still use my alts acc to play games. It is all steam's FAULT! Family sharing = sharing entire library = is not a true sharing. :p
