Are you using the beta or the regular version? Like have you opted in for the beta updates? Also are you running it through Steam with overlay from both on? You might want to disable the overlay in Origin to see if that helps. Otherwise I never have any problems running Origin. Try updating and disabling overlay. Good luck.

just wanted to post that this is a clear case of a console being handy vs. PC

(I'm no fanboy of PC or console btw)

I had a problem with Me2 make sure you have the latest origin installed.

Just get Mass Effect 2 on Steam and at the end close your eyes and pick red green or blue then act disappointed.

Easy fix: uninstall and download a copy from pirate bay. You paid for the game already, how you play it is up to you. Guilt free "pirating" and no freezes and DRM to hold you back.

Verify the installation. Had the a freeze at a checkpoint in a mission. Very annoying, when it destroys your savegames. Also: If you have a firewall, check it, too.
