There have been plenty of generous developers who have given away a bunch of game keys to the SteamGifts community, but as soon as the giveaway ends the developer goes back into obscurity if they were a smaller developer.

Could there be something like a 'Hall of Generosity' link on the top page, containing a link to the store page of every developer who has given away at least 25-50 copies of their game to SteamGifts in a bundle? That might give additional developers incentive to toss a bunch of keys up on SteamGifts.

You could even sweeten the pot a bit more by making it so the game given away awards double contributor value, to make it more appealing for people to create additional giveaways for that game through SteamGifts. I dunno if that'd be a bit much, though.

I think something like this would be neat, just to give back to the developers. :)

Huh. It's so rare to see an original and good suggestion. Submit a support ticket with the idea so the admin sees it.

This is the response I got:

"Crossbourne (Mod) (41 minutes ago)

Thanks for the suggestion."

I'm assuming that's not a good sign. :P Oh well.

It's been added to the suggestion list. The administrator will check it when he's able.

Oh, I thought you were the administrator, since you've got tens of thousands of dollars of giveaways. Damn, man, that's seriously impressive.

I'm going to second the confusion here. I regular both SG and GG, but I don't believe I've seen anything like this over on Gala? Throw me a bone if you have proof otherwise.

Have you ever scrolled down, just a bit after the giveaways...

... Ah. I didn't notice that top contributors was split into two sections. I assumed it was the same as we had here and never bothered to actually look at it. ^^;

... that's for top contributors to the site. Which wasn't mentioned anywhere in my post. Just developers who visit SteamGifts to officially give away a bunch of their game keys.

The first part is great, it might happen, just too much work for cg. :P But forget the second part.

I'd thought about this previously, but abandoned the idea believing that it would promote begging and perhaps even scam attempts towards the top donors.

I know that MoneyHypeMike had trouble like that fairly often due to his generosity.

While I totally agree with "Hall of Fame" - giving additional CV? A big no-no. CV boosters are hated in this community enough already - now imagine if some of them had double CV ;p

Yeah, the Hall of Fame idea I like. Messing around with CV is a no though :P
