Hey!
After the prologue, here we are again.
I think I'm overdoing a bit with the story, but once I started writing I couldn’t really stop and I didn’t want to cut it short. Puzzle and story for Chapter 2 are ready too, but I’ll wait for the next HC or maybe for Spring Cleaning sales before posting them. I also have the puzzle for ch.3, but I have yet to write down the story I have in mind for it. Then it’s all dark. Just a rough idea for an epilogue but no idea how to get there 😅
Anyway…

Here you have chapter 1.
Puzzle-wise, all you need are the two pictures and what's written in the ITH questions' boxes.
The solution of part 1 is relevant for part 2.
In part 2 I want you to complete the answer. Google will greatly help you with that, once you make sense of what’s in the picture.
You can start HERE.

I’ll try to keep hints to a minimum this time.
I’ll post the solution at the end.
GAs:
After part 1: Blazing Beaks, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, Dungeons 3, Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition, Yoku's Island Express, Yooka-Laylee
After part 2: Outer Wilds (yeah again).
I may add one more GA at the end of part 2 depending on what’s on sale during Golden Week.

An unrelated note:
just for Outer Wilds, I’d like the GA to go to someone who really wants to play the game. If you’re just hunting for a +1 on your account for any reason (totally casual example: you played it already via Steam family sharing and now you just want to own it), I’d ask you not to join. I can’t really impose my demand on you, but I trust you can be honest with yourself, please.

I keep not getting notifications when people reply to themselves.

Anyway, I'm not sure what you mean by "yamahas".🤔
For part 2 I'm not willing to give any more hints than the ones in the original post.

i totally respect your stance regarding hints, i already have the game from part 2, just want to complete the puzzle. :)
I'll just try more google-fu techniques and hopefully solve this.
apparently googling some things comes up with some yamaha engines etc., but i've already passed this part, now stuck on figuring the ITH sentence.

Bump for solved. I found this puzzle to be much easier than the last one even though I had no prior knowledge of the things contained in part 1 or 2. I actually found the puzzle really enjoyable.

Thanks for another fun puzzle and the great giveaways :)

I found the clue in Part 2, decoded it correctly, tried over 100 different answers in Google, but all are not correct.
What you need to enter in the text box is a continuation of the phrase "It doesn't ...? Is" It doesn't "associated with a hint?

I won't give further hints.

Don't use quotation mark at the end of phrase, cause it's the wrong answer.

>>>>> SOLUTIONS <<<<<
(Hints you had are in italics)

Part 1

  • In the dark part of the picture there's a code.
You had the brilliant idea to mark it closeby
  • It's a 9 digits Braille code: 937896753 (referred to as "password" in the story)
You take comfort in the fact that the average seeing person wouldn't understand it, while a blind person wouldn't see it

Part 2
Harmony's message is a red herring.

  • You need the password from the 1st part
The solution of part 1 is relevant for part 2.
  • Reallign the horizontally splitted text and read:

    T9 9 = w
    <+ohcE+*g/GAhM4+DGm>@3ANM+EM47G9D!AFDPL

    • T9 is the old mobile phones' text message code;
    • 9 = w means that 9's are W's;
    • The code below is ASCII85 for "The password is a TV show title".
XLATE - 1st tool suggested by zelgh in his puzzle guide.
  • Apply all that to the password:
    937896753 -> W378W6753 -> WE78WO753 (it's bound to be vowels after the W's) -> WESTWORLD
  • Google "westworld it doesn't".
You get "It doesn't look like anything to me" right away. That's how you were supposed to complete the answer.
In part 2 I want you to complete the answer. Google will greatly help you with that, once you make sense of what’s in the picture.

That's it! See you next chapter ;)

Why did I only google "T9 9-W" instead of trying to google just T9? Dang!

I tried using part 1's answers as an index into each sentence from Harmony Hellweather. I didn't even realize the test was ASCII85. I thought it was some sort of email , you know how they make emails like <email>@website.com

The other thing, I was over-analyzing Harmony's message. I noticed "ANYMORE" and "HARMONY" come right after each other and share all letters except 1. So I thought there could be something there. Also 1 word from each sentence seemed to be appear twice in sentences ("Access", "Us").

Thanks for the chance Dog

Didn't find a decent T9 tool, tried both on PC and phone. Gave up.
I was looking for T9 with "<>" symbols. Were these used or ignored?

Those symbols where ignored. I didn't even know there could be that variable.
Most tools don't recognize 'westworld' as a word, not being a real word. You had to get it without using any.
