You can get way better hardware in a desktop for the same price.

I think OP wants mobility. Probably going to Orlando for vacation and wants something with him.
As a student, laptops are better value. Sure you may not need a gaming one for notes and schoolwork, but personally I'd rather use the same machine at school and at home.

To each their own - I just graduated last year, and I used a desktop almost my entire 6 years in college. I did buy a cheap Chromebook to take notes on, though.

I highly recommend a Chromebook if you know you'll have a constant, stable internet connection at school. They don't mess around - they're really efficient at doing what they're built for.
They're pretty much useless without internet, though.

This is what I use. Can run most of my games on medium - max settings. 2GB vram isn't enough to run GTA V on max though, which bummed me out.
Battery isn't great while gaming. After 2 matches of Overwatch (20 minutes), my battery went from 100% to 40%. Lasts roughly 3-5 hours doing stuff such as web browsing though.

You can't get any decent laptops to play videogames for that price...
Laptops are much weaker than desktops and much, much more expensive. Only ever go for a laptop if you REALLY need a computer to carry arround with you all the time.

Sure you CAN. I've been stuck with a laptop for a couple of years now and that doesn't stop me from playing.
It's still nowhere as close in terms or value/money to what you'd get with a desktop. If you want something that's GOOD you need to spend more than 1000 of whatever currency for a MSI or something. Otherwise, you'll be struggling in 1 year or so.
How is "Laptops are shit compared to desktops and more expensive" ever out of date...

Sorry for the Caps :p Yes, I need a laptop for moving around while having time to work/play.
I love all king of games from indie to rpgs.
Already consider Dell Inspiron 7559, but the MSI looks promising. Lenovo is good? I don´t have any experiernce with those.
Any other suggestions :)

I would suggest not getting a Lenovo. I had a problem with the battery in my y580 and after it came back from the repair center, the graphics card would overheat, causing the driver to restart. I finally decided to re-apply the thermal paste on the GPU and CPU, which was not an easy task. However, for the money, Lenovo does tend to have a higher value but just be aware of what you're getting yourself in to.

Check clevo maybe. Idk if they ship to the US, i think they're german, but i'm guessing they do. They have good gaming PCs for decent prices.
Also MSI laptops have been good lately and relatively cheap for what they offer.
Lenovos can have some assembly issues. I have a buddy how got one and whithin a year had to have it repaired like 3 times for factory assembly problems.

Anything with over 4 GB RAM and at least an NVidia GT960M graphics chip on-board. If you can, try to get a laptop with a 6th generation Intel CPU in it, like the 6200U. But if you can get something along these parameters, most any laptops will suffice.

I use the HP Spectre X360, and it does a fine job. I run pretty much every game in 1080x1920 and medium settings for newer games, highest settings for older games. The battery lasts pretty much all day.
The only downside is that the trackpad is too big, so you need to learn the right hand position to not accidentally move the pointer while using the keyboard.

It is a bit out of your price range but is a fairly decent machine close to your price of $800/

P.S. I almost always go with custom built machines due to the fact you usually get better components for the price. AVADirect are one of, if not the bust custom builders around, i have never gone wrong with them.
P.P.S. The model i linked to currently qualifies for a promotion which includes, in their words, nearly $200 dollars of software free.
