As the title says, I would like to know of some games and DLCs that are pretty good and have been/will be on sale for $1 or less.

Please, no Fortix. If anything I'll just buy some JC2 DLCs even though they don't look worth it.

Already have it, and I'm not going to make a giveaway. Though if I had $2 I'd buy 2 copies just to push my contrib over the bundle limit so people don't think I'm a damn leecher

Chime is fun and has been dropping to $1.25 during sales. I haven't played Zeno Clash, but I've heard good things and it's been $1 a couple of times. I forget how low the Breath of Death/Cthulhu Saves The World double pack gets on sale, but it's got a $3 base price, so that's a good candidate if you enjoy retro RPGs.

I've been interested in BoD/CSTW for a while, might get that on the next sale... Zeno Clash looks great but really short and has no replay value.

I cannot buy Chime as my reason for posting this is that I have $1.05 on my Steam account.

BoD/CSTW was $0.99 during the winter sale, so you may want to hold off til the next sale for those. I admit, I don't know if there is a spring one or not, so may not be until summer.

If you read my post above, the reason I posted this is because I have $1.05 on my Steam account.

Therefore, any requests must be Steam store only.

The game doesn't look any good, to be honest...

Not my style, per se.

I thought it looked terrible, but I tried the free-to-play trial and it wasn't bad. Not my style either though.

There are not many options.

I'd wait for a 75% sale on a $5 game rather than wasting it now.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Keep in mind that I said past sales can be mentioned.

EDIT: Most $5 games don't go on sale for $1 and below. The Ghostbusters game definetely doesn't.

They would never go down to $1.00 if they were 75% off due to the fact it comes out to $1.25!

Past deals are irrelevant unless you have a time machine. They're pretty easy to calculate too...Store price * .25 = Price if they were 75% off.

In a few days, there will be a mass Fortix giveaway. Please consider it for that. :P

Zeno Clash and Toki Tori both get 90% sales and I find to be great fun. Both have been bundled though, so little chance of using for Contribution.

Toki Tori is a puzzle game. I happen to be terrible at those.

Zeno Clash looks great, but seems to be short and has not much replayability.

A pity I can't seem to convince you of either. Both are titles I like to give to people during sales.

Is Zeno Clash any good? I mean, I'm guessing you have it.. I was seriously interested before I heard something about it being short.

I tried a demo on XBox Live (Steam also has one) and loved what I played of it, enough that I bought it the moment I saw it on sale, along with some spare copies for friends. I've only beaten it once so far, but intend to return for the challenge mod at some point. I admit it isn't a long game, but for $1 during a sale, it is easily a great purchase. It lasted me just over 3 hours the first time, but getting the rest of the content should add some game time. I just have a bunch of backlogged titles to clear out first.

Alright, I might get it if no other options arise.

Is it difficult? I really am terrible at difficult FPSs.

It wasn't too difficult to start with, but there are annoying sections. You can enable the console and just set God mode if you don't mind cheating past the difficult sections.

I'm a bit of a masochist when it comes to videogames (such is my gameplay in TF2, SMB, BoI..), so it sounds like a perfect game for me. Thanks for explaining, it's either this or BoD/CSTW.

Well, if you choose the RPGs, maybe I'll find myself buying another spare copy during the next sales, assuming my wallet allows me, and send it your way. No promises though.

Anyway, give the demo a try if you don't deal with datacaps, and let me know if the gameplay interests you.

Played through the entire demo. No doubt, I want this game.

Kept me interested the entire time. Graphics are great, sound is great, battles are wonderfully difficult, and the story seems intriguing.

Thank you for letting me give this a second chance. I hope it goes on sale soon.

Why do many of us happily pay 8 USD to see a movie, yet we balk at paying just 1 USD for a game that provides entertainment for twice that length of time?

I always found this interesting.

Zeno Clash is great. You won't find anything like it and it's well worth the $1. Toki Tori, even if you don't like puzzlers, hits $0.46 or so and is very charming. Another title that hits $1 is Ignite, a car racing game from the developers of Fortix. Those 3 are your best values at this time, though you can always get more wallet from the market.

It's great - the graphic stile, the combat system, plot.. But I would wait till sales. It was on my list on winter, but I forgot to buy it and some other indie's.

It appears that currently, the only non-DLC games for one dollar or less are Fortix and Serious Sam: The Random Encounter.

I'd wait until we're close to March 17th. Saint Patrick's Day, and my birthday. I'll be 33.
