You can get all of the ME2 DLC on Steam. You have to go to social.bioware.com to buy it.

I never played the third one, but the first two were very good. Neither one was perfect, but if you like the old Bioware you'd probably enjoy them both. Apparently there's DLC or extra garbage you can't buy on steam, but I think that's just EA trying to get people on their "origin" thing.
And checking the prices on steam, hmm, actually I'd wait for a sale. Good luck! :)

They're definitely worth buying (fantastic series, even ME3, which had an ending that a lot of people didn't like, but 99% of the game is still great). If you want to get the entire trilogy and keep it together on one DRM platform, then getting it all on Origin is probably your best bet since I doubt you'll be seeing ME3 on Steam anytime soon. I'd recommend waiting for a sale on the games on Amazon or another retailer and picking up the entire trilogy in one shot.

Mass Effect 1 was soo great you will love it.
I played the first 4 hrs of Mass Effect 2 but im not as interested in it :/ Its way more shooter than rpg now, and I was looking for an RPG fix so chances of my completing it soon are slim.

Mass Effect has allot of fruitless tasks and can be quite boring and slow unless u like tedious tasks and repetition.
Mass Effect 2 was the pinnacle of the series it was streamlined and has a quicker pay off.
Mass Effect 3 was rushed and as a story it falls flat on the Final Act however it has some of the best character moments of the series but besides multiplayer didnt bring anything new to the series.
The series can be obnoxious in a manner where it overrides your choices or potential impact of your choices between series. For a game that screams how ur choices make a difference it can be suprisingly linear, non more obvious then the series finale ending. The minor choices have a greater impact than the larger morally impacted decisions which is weird.
-->if u dont care about story and characters in video games(i speak of being emotionally invested) then just buy Mass Effect 2.
otherwise buy the series off origin or Xbox/Ps3. The only important DLCs' story wise are "From ashes" (Mass Effect 3) probably becuz it feels like someone cut it from the game and the "Extended Cut ending"(ME3) which patches the ending of ME3. the other DLCs are just additions, the best being the "Lair of the Shadow Broker"(ME 2);and The Citadel DLC(ME3) which is an example of what makes the series fun.

This. While I hate that it has to be on Origin, the games were worth it.

Is it worth buying Mass Effect 1 and 2 even if 3 isn't on Steam? I want to complete the whole series but I also want to have the whole series on one DRM. Are ME1 and ME2 worth buying if I'm not buying 3?
