Like I said, I did expect it. It was fishy as hell, but damn I wanted that Borderlands: Pre Sequel :D

EDIT: Of course I checked Steamrep etc. It is just that the key got revoked after a month, pointless to even try and hunt him.

Simple rule of thumb (and #1 too) in trading - if it's too good to be true, then it's probably a scam. If your gut was telling you it wasn't going to end well, you should have not taken the risk. The game wasn't so rare considering it was in a Humble bundle at the time, so better be patient and wait for the right trade rather than be disappointed later on.

Better luck next time, just trying to give advice. Thanks for the GAs and stay well. :)

That's the case, it was not "too good to be truth". It was a legit price and he went first, but as it seems there are more assholes out there than I thought :)

Damn then, bad way to get scammed indeed. :/ In this case the 'gut' feeling stays, trust your sixth sense, it's often smarter than what our brain advises us on, honestly.

don't rely on steamrep. they don't handle key scams. just trade with people with good rep here on SG, and you're fine. :)

Not always tbh .... I used to think the same but not anymore.

IMO just always doubt the other person. And as ppl suggested if it seems to good to be true it's prolog a scam

Anyway, guy A offers me 2 of my CS:GO keys for his Borderlands: PS key and asks me to send the keys to guy B because he himself doesn't have mobile authenticator. He goes first with the key, I activate it, it is legit and today (after a month) it got revoked :)

Sounds a bit unspectacular. Not very likely to get scammed for a bundle game, but there sure are some low lifes out there.
Sorry, man.

That exactly was my thought. Didn't expect someone to bother and scam me of 2 mere CS:GO keys, it's not a fortune after all :D

How can people who do that live with themselves?
I had a trade where I accidentally redeemed my own key and I freaked out (bought them a new copy of the game, FYI) even though it totally didn't happen on purpose?

EDIT: also thanks, I entered one of your GAs

Well, to tell you the truth I'd scam as well but only if what I'd scam would be worth it. I really can't see a reason to scam someone of a mere key or w/e. That's just pathetic imo.

Don't worry it happens. The only thing you can do is learn from this experience so it doesn't happen again.

Well, you can't actually guarantee it won't happen again can you? :D

I am not much of a trader guy so I never had to go through these kind of things, but well w/e ::)

It happens. I almost fell for a pretty convincing phishing e-mail the other day too. Good thing I have LastPass and I realized I was on the wrong website when it asked me to log in.

We probably are, since i also had to give the keys to another person since he didn't have mobile auth , and the other guy who i traded my keys with was a scammer

I can't join it, not the right level. But man that sucks to be scammed, but at least it was just a couple CSGO keys... it could have been worse I guess.

I kind of wonder how does the keys get revoked anyways, is it probably whoever bought it asked for a refund or used a fraudulent means to purchase said bundle?

Stolen credit card used to by the bundle. Bank charges back, keys get revoked.

Sorry to read that. You went about it the right way, that just happens some times.

A month ago or so I received a message from Steam that a game I won here at SG was revoked 4-5 months after I won it. (Fortunately I had already played it to 100% completion :)) I informed the giver just so he would know. He had traded for it and was willing to get me a new copy, but I didn't want to make him since the current market price was high. We worked it out and he's awesome. Scams can still happen even when doing "everything right". :(

You can earn 2 keys by farming what? 120-130 cards? It's nothing.
