Hmmm. I don't really think that would be allowed. Technically you are asking for a payment in order to enter a giveaway. Or I'd see it that way. But I dunno.

No, I'd much rather sell them myself to buy games.

Group giveaways can be entered by all members of the group, not just by 1 person.

It's still not a direct payment going to you though.

You've got a point. There are several groups like this (some of them set the minimum game price at $30, so you can only give away games that cost more than $30, which in my view is some kind of "payment" required to enter the group's giveaways).

You're thinking of a raffle.
This site is for giveaways...

A raffle is a sweepstake where something of worth is being submitted as an entry fee.
Since they aren't tradable for any other good, I'd say that Steamgifts points are worthless, except for their stated use as freely dispensed entry tokens. This isn't the same for trading cards, which can be sold for cash (albeit Steam wallet cash).
Maybe I'm splitting hairs?

Hello everyone, I have a random question to ask, which popped into my head as recently as five minutes ago.
Namely, would you give one (1) card away for a chance to win a game on SG?
For example, Borderlands 2 is currently ~$14 (discount price on Steam as of now), thus there could be a giveaway for exactly 14 people, giving you a decent chance of winning something -without- needing to be in a private group which where you're required to give away games regularly. Plus trading cards are cheap, compared to games.
