Akame Ga Kill. It has 24 episodes I think, and it was sooo good, I keep watching it over and over again.
There is a downside to the anime though. The story doesn't go the same way that the manga went. The anime has a different ending.

I can also recommend Tokyo Ghoul and Sword Art Online.

Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit - great story and character development, and great, realistic fight scenes.

I have no suggestions, just passing by because I need a few recommendations myself!

Noragami... The anime original arc is a bit so-so, also the jokes are a bit silly but funny..

Log Horizon (Better than SAO in every way imo) and Fate series are definitely recommended.
If you don't mind several non-shonen :

• Coppelion and Zankyou no Terror, both have amazing art and story (especially ZnT)
• For tearjerker I'd suggest Clannad and Clannad AS - it might be boring and has slow pacing during the first half of Clannad, though.
• Oregairu. The most popular Romcom LN right now. Give it a watch and you'll see why.
• Monogatari series. Definitely recommended for supernatural genre fans.
• Danganronpa (Only if you don't have any plans to play the game)

EDIT : I see that you're currently watching Neon Genesis Evangelion. Personally I like the manga than the anime. If you do like the series though, you should watch the Rebirth of Evangelion movie tetralogy, which is the reboot of the series.

SAO TV anime is very poor bad noob, the novel is the best.

I don't know if it was mentioned but Terror in resonance was awesome.
Also Highschool of the Dead was quite funny. A lot of panties shots.
