Lucky you, your old speed is my current one and there is no indication that it's going to be faster any time soon.

We also didn't have any indication but some weeks ago there was a sales person at our door and informed us that they'll change the technology and therefore it will be possible to get faster speeds. So don't give up hope!

I moved to a new apartment, but none of my preferred ISP doesn't have the building connected on their network, so I still hunt for ISP.

I had a internet speed upgrade at one point as well and it was instantly noticeable. It's a great feeling.
Sadly this speed upgrade is essentially slightly worse than what you had before. I think it was so bad before I'm ok with how it is now.

It's easier to get fast internet in rural areas these days. Too much stuff in the way in cities, old pipes, cables, foundations, metros, , traffic, dead people, roman settlements. :P

So today we got a new Internet connection and it is just so much faster than the old one. Here in Germany we still have ridiculously slow Internet especially in the rural areas so the new connection is actually pretty good in comparison to the rest.
