Well, I've subscribed for 1-Year plan for Monthly about a year ago. Kind of forgot about it up until now and just got a PayPal charge for renewal (a shame that there are no prior notifications). I don't play games often lately nor that much interested in Humble anymore so wonder if they'd be kind enough to issue a refund.

Did anyone here manage to get a refund for any Monthly plan from them?

Edit. Got a partially automated response (checked by Support, but replied by default - looks like they make 1 refund exception for any Monthly plan as a general rule) and a refund.

They offered refunds for individual monthly bundles (they claimed to be one-time only) as long as keys weren't used.
I guess there is nothing to lose if you ask them, just do it as soon as you can, definitely before the game reveals. It ill make a clearer picture about you not wanting anything, not just disliking the games.

Well, if they generally do refunds for Monthlies at all, that's a good sign (since it says opposite on their FAQ entry). Thanks for the information. And yeah, I got email a few minutes ago and already left a ticket.

I would probably keep the subscription under normal circumstances, but a 1-year long for 132$ is kinda steep for something you can't do much with.

It was always 132$ as far as I know since it was get 1 month for free, and 12$ times 11 months is 132$.
You say there is no saving when you buy a full year but 12$ times 12months is 144$ O.o

Not trying to persuade you but did you get $40 store credit too? Its not a good deal imo as I got the $99 for year deal previously. As Adam described, just be polite and state your request. If you are not going to buy month to month or anything else then take away the payment method too. If you're still unclear, ask in the forum. :)
Best Wishes, Cheers, Cruse

It is, I do not have anything I want to buy from the $5 store credit I have so $40 will just give me a bigger headache. Certainly, if someone whom had been wanting to buy a game then its a good deal for them. :)

There was a promotion like that in the end of the email (one which stated that my 1-year sub was renewed), yeah. But no, I didn't get any Store credit apparently. Guess I'd need to actually change my plan to 1-month and then to 1-year in order to get it or something.

Hmm, what exactly do you intend to do now? Are you interested in this month's monthly? Better don't change up anything and straight up ask for a refund. When the refund gotten through, then proceed to cancel and remove your billing details. :) Cheers~

Yeah, just ask them kindly, you have nothing to lose.
They tend to grant one refund on request out of goodwill and after that you are pretty much alone if you make a purchase by mistake and would like to refund a second time.
Please keep us updated how this will turn out. Good luck!

You get an email about renewal 1 or 2 months before the actual date

Oddly then, I got nothing like that.

I did not receive any email and was charged for another year! As far as I know that is not even allowed by law in Europe.

I goofed up on my renewal somehow. Thought I turned off the auto-renew feature but got turned on again somewhere down the line. Explained my situation to the support and they were nice enough to revert my 3 month renewal (on a one time only courtesy).

Most of the reps I've dealt with have been very good and pleasant.

Hope it works out for ya!

From their ToS:

By subscribing to the Humble Monthly Bundle subscription, you hereby request that the Products are delivered or made available for download to you before the expiry of any applicable cancellation period, and you acknowledge that you will lose your right to change your mind and request a refund once the first Product has been made available to you as part of the Humble Monthly Bundle subscription.

The initial 3 games have been revealed, so unfortunately you don't have a right to get a refund, but that doesn't necessarily mean they will reject your refund request.

PAYMENTS ARE NONREFUNDABLE AND THERE ARE NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS FOR PARTIALLY USED PERIODS.

I don't know how strictly they enforce this rule. Good luck!
