Not interested in the program. But pretty cool attitude

honestly, i find all this pretty sad. he doesn't want to give away something, because he knows people will call him a cv farmer, basically. same reason i didn't do a Vegas Pro giveaway when the price glitch happened. because i knew people would call me out as cv farmer (when in reality i am way above lvl 10 and don't need any more cv) and blacklist me. i sometimes feel all this witch hunting does is to take away some giveaways from SG. excessive cv farming is also not a good thing. i understand that. but if it reaches a point where someone doesn't give away a game, because he know he will be called a cv farmer, then i find this sad. there is a difference between a guy who gives away a single game, and someone who does actual farming with 5+ copies of it.

All the Clickteam Fusion giveaways made me look for the source, and I found it. $10 was fair enough for the whole bundle, so I bought it. I still have $5 on that particular debit card, and I am fighting the urge to buy a set of Fusion bundles to give away just for leveling. However, there are still far more people entering for the giveaways than there are keys being offered.
Perhaps the gifters might complain, but the receivers show a high demand. I may yet change my mind.

Yeah it is a perfectly good piece of software and even if it's niche it's still useful to the right people. I was happy to see so much normally expensive software going for a fraction of the price, but I figured I'd just skip the drama in giving away what is a genuinely spare key. I for one won't blacklist any one who uses it to level up, but there are a lot of people who would. I'd recommend saving the $5 for games you'll actually play. Levelling up is overrated.

Very nice of you.
Good guy of the week ;)
Edit: Lets make that the month

Well. this is kinda of topic, but seeing that you already know about this APPs, for someone that never do a development in java or something like that, is a good start?
I only do some developments on an ERP that it's like Pseudocode with if and whiles and just a bit of C.
I'm just want to decide if buy the bundle or not, or just the first part of the bundle.
Thanks in advance and sorry if this comment bother you.-

Yes it's a perfect start actually. It has enough built in functionality that you could build a serviceable game without writing any actual code but it can also scale up enough to make a genuinely good game. It is less advanced than gamemmaker, and doesn't have much in the way of 3D capabilities but people have built decent games with this and I think given a bit of practise and attention to detail you could make a good game with this tool. I doubt any serious developer would stick with this forever, but it's a good stepping stone. There are a lot of tutorials that will help you get started.

Haha, yeah I'm in that group! One of my three wins actually came from there. Whoop whoop! But genuinely, it doesn't bug me.

Thank you, I hope so too. At this point it seems like all the other clickteam fusion giveaways are being entered by bots or no level leechers... haha.

Nice attitude, though I think if you just give away just one copy of clickteam fusion nobody should call you a CV farmer (especially if you don't give away the hole bundle, so it's visible that you use some of it yourself). Some people might still do call out. But hey, you know, people will always find a way to hate you here on SG!
I did buy the other Clickteam fusion bundle, so I don't need it, but I hope you find someone who really uses it after winning it from you!

Yeah people find the strangest reasons to blacklist as it is, why entice them further, especially when you're not actually trying to 'game' the system.
I have a dream that some crack animator will win this from me and help me bring all my game ideas to life. I do the code and tech stuff, they do graphics and we go on to conquer the world.
Comment has been collapsed.
I share that dream too, hope you'll be able to successfully conquer the world ^_^

I guess the problem is most hardcore gamers are probably naturally more technically minded, while all the artists are out there writing poems and painting butterflies. And if you did find one, they'd be unlikely to want to do it for fun/ free. Hence all the games on steam with 'pixel' graphics.
Comment has been collapsed.
Very nice gesture, but giving away a single copy of CTF is hardly CV farming if you bought the bundle. Let 'em complain.
Now, buying five copies? Well, that's another matter...
Comment has been collapsed.
Haha yes, but the jokes on them. If they spent the $5 on a game they actually wanted they might get more benefit than being a level or two higher.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah but this is steamgifts, where apparently giving away things for free is highly political. I agree it is silly, but the idea of pulling the carpet out from them with a giveaway like this appealed to me.

Whereas Clickteam has high CV, you are just using SG normally.
Would gifting only by getting low CV the only fair use of SG ?
If you don't care about getting CV, don't be afraid about it neither.
You aren't farming CV here by gifting region locked audio software to people that will never download it...
You give too much importance about CV and... people crying about CV farming.
Just remember that CV is just simple motivation trick/design to scam gifters into gifting games they wouldn't buy otherwise to other people that wouldn't buy them anyway ;-)
I see lots of winner or owner of Clickteam whereas they have no intention of using whereas this is a good software by itself.
What really matters is if the winner have any interest in it, imho. And that's what you do as well.
So my thought, don't limit it 4 entries but to (potential) game dev or poeple who whishlisted it earlier than your topic.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes I agree with you. Your idea would have also been good if I had thought of it earlier. But I think a 25% chance is also nice for those who may genuinely find a use for the software.
Comment has been collapsed.
Thanks for asking since it actually exists !
That must be something new, though :-)
[DATE] wishlist_date -> Date when the user wishlisted giveaway's game. It doesn't work with packages, steam don't allow users to wishlist them!
[Boolean] wishlisted_game_date(appid, "date") -> Checks if the user has wishlisted the game with specified appid before or at the specified date. - e.g. wishlisted_game_date(268500, "2015-12-17") (Checks if user has xcom2 wishlisted prior or equal to 17th December 2015)

At the end of the day, haters are gonna hate. If there are people out there blacklisting folks for giving away Clickteam Fusion, then there is really not much that can be done to stop them. If you want to give this away, then by all means, give it away. If you're really worried, you can put in the giveaway description a short summary of what you've already said here:
I'm a programmer. I wanted Spriter Pro. I already have Clickteam Fusion. Enjoy.
btw, that is a phenomenal giveaway:win ratio! You are very generous. Have my blue <3

Yeah that wouldn't have been a bad idea. I guess after I set this up I also figured that a 1 in 4 chance was nice for someone who wanted to use the software but kept been shut out of winning a copy by all the bots entering. So it just seemed like a win for everyone.
Comment has been collapsed.
That is certainly true. I am sure the winner definitely appreciated the odds of 1:4.

I can't wait for the points to drop back to normal, entering GAs all day is exhausting ^_^;
Haha, I get what you're saying about the "no talking rules", each time I'm active in the forums I randomly get on blacklists (luckily a lot of whitelists too, kind folks). Conversing here is walking a minefield full of overly-sensitive people (and they don't say a thing, they just BL).
Have a bump.

Haha yeah it's crazy. I think there are a majority of people who are happy, I mean after all it's a site about giving away free things, what's not to love. But a lot of people also seem to take things very personally.
Comment has been collapsed.
I would understand people blacklisting if it was the only thing you would give away, but 1 clickteam ga among 300 is nothing. I have given it away myself.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah I agree, it is silly, but I thought making a topic like this would also spark a bit of conversation about it and maybe show some people who have been blacklisting anyone who does a CTF giveaway that sometimes it's just about being nice, not trying to take a shortcut.
Comment has been collapsed.
I honestly don't even pay attention. CTF ga's don't even apear on my feed because I only enter ga's for games on my wishlist and since CFT is not, I have no idea how many copies are being given away.
I think people should find better things to do than blacklist whoever is giving CTF away. Imagine all the time lost just to do that and it's just so silly. ^^
Comment has been collapsed.
Absolutely. I think a lot of people waste so much time just being angry about things other people are doing that has no impact on them.
Comment has been collapsed.
Actually I think it's fine if to create a giveaway for clickteam fusion and gain the cv. People like you might have a spare key they don't need, while others would like to have one. Even those who just giveaway to boost will make other players happy. At the end this site is about gifting and the cv is only an approximate representation of the contibution. I'm sure others gifters will have the same concerns like you. While I truely apprechiate your courage, I can't expect anyone to do the same or to renounce creating a giveway for it.
I'm sure you'll recieve lot's of <3 (maybe more than the blacklists you'd recieve otherwise) and I'm going to support this trend. ;)
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah in the end I think even without CV a lot of people would still do giveaways, just because some people are nice. The CV system I think helps inspire the less forthcoming to give a bit more but it also creates a hierarchy of sorts. So whilst a lot of people are happy to give without demanding in return, there are those who abuse the system both ways. So I kinda get why people are tempted to farm CV and I do get why some people might be upset about it, but I'm actually just here for fun and to occasionally be visited by the space cat. So this just seemed like the least drama approach.

Well thank you. My stubble instantly sprang into a beard at the sight of this manly oil. I will have to close the image now before the local Amish community takes me in as one of their own.

the real tragedy is, that till now nobody realy wanted clickteam and still all the public GAs have a lot of entries... hope you can find someone who really has a use for it
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah hopefully I will. I think a lot of people just enter every giveaway for something they don't have yet, even if they have no intention of ever using it.
Comment has been collapsed.
Which is selfish and petty in my opinion. I believe in giving whoever really wants it a chance. Never entered a GA for a game I don't want even if it's AAA. Don't want just a +1 on my account. Besides, those points are limited and sometimes we don't have enough. Had a few times when a couple of games I really wanted were massive being given away [like Epistory or Kathy Rain]. Didn't have enough points to enter them all let alone spend 100 points in a ga I don't want.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah I pretty much only enter for games on my wishlist. I already have far too many games from buying bundles, so rather make the free games I might get something I will actually play.

Ok so I bought the humble bundle because I genuinely wanted spriter pro. I'd been eyeing it up for a while and in a $1 it was a no-brainer. But I already had clickteam fusion as I am a programmer and like messing around, (if only I could draw than I might actually make a game, hence why spriter pro seems like a good thing) .
Anyhow, now I have an extra copy to give away. I know people hate clickteam giveaways as it is a cheap way to gain CV, but I do still have an extra key I can't use, so my solution is this... I've created a clickteam fusion giveaway, protected by steamgifts tools so I can limit it to 4 entries. So 4 entries means I won't get a drop of CV from it but I can still allow space cat to decide the fate of this key, and I won't be seen as trying to 'boost' my CV and cheat the system. Therefore it means that 4 lucky people will have a 1 in 4 chance of winning the software, (which is actually pretty useful if you are wanting to learn how to make games / apps by the way) and I'll throw in the html5 plugin as well. So the giveaway is level 2 and over and I will send the link to the first 4 people who indicate a genuine interest. Not just an "I'm in" type comment.
Sorry if this still manages to offend some people, but it seems like some people are offended by pretty much anything, so if you want to blacklist me feel free. You'll find I enter hardly any and win virtually no giveaways anyway, so it's like not talking to someone who probably doesn't know you exist and the only way they know you were even pissed off is if you break your own 'no talking' rule and tell them... ¯_(ツ)_/¯
