I'm setting up giveaways and wondering why when I try making some the game doesn't show up so i can select it for the title because not selecting one makes it where it won't let me list the giveaway. Why do some some up and others don't? even some I've seen listed as giveaways I can't even do it, it doesn't bring up the title to allow me to make the giveaway.

They were given away in massive numbers so they are not available to given away anomre. Plz, Don't choose another game from the list.

I really think you should edit that, I know it wasn't your intention but it might lead new users that are not used to forums to make mistakes.

Use the forum's search function. As soon as a game shows up as having been free, that's the reason for it not being on the list.

Search the forum. Most of the time there are gleam giveaways of several thousand keys.

like I'm trying to understand what makes them not valid once free.

There are people hoarding many (hundreds?) of keys. If giveaways for those games would be allowed here, they would spam the GA page and get a lot of contributor value (CV)/levels (even there is a decrease after the 5th GA of the same game).

so its when anyone not just devs or steam or whatever givesaway a huge amount of the same game for free? Because most i listed when i search in forum have multiple free forums but the melissa K there is only 1. sorry for all the questions.

Unless you got them all previously in bundles, you know how you got your games you want to giveaway, in other words you got them for free in a massive giveaway, and thus unless something slipped by, you can't give them away.

There also a couple of publishers that sell keys in 5000+ packs. I think, I've seen something like "Wanne be famous, make a giveaway of our game. 100 000 keys for just $999." a couple of weeks ago. So if you want to promote something and are willing to spend a bit, there is a chance.

They are valid, but are forbidden to give away on SG.

oh ok now i see why with the melissa k one. are they sites that sell steam games in bundles and cheaper or something bc I'm only scanning the site bc from what I'm getting is if they do a big huge freebie it makes it not available as giveaway on here.

It's sites that give freebies yes, pretty much every day you can find some site giving something away.

well crap i didn't know that. I got most my games from a friend or just an easy auction on a site because i had points to waste. Ive only bought like 10 of the games i own thats really it rest i got from friends or throwing away points on auctions.

Sorry to hear then, it's probably why friends gifted it to you or it was cheap on auctions.

It really depends on the country you live in, but you can always try Tremorgames, do some surveys, tasks or play games to earn some coins which in return you can buy games that you could give away (or keep) if you are low on cash, just check first if you can make a giveaway or not here before buying though .
Gotten most of my steam collection through it, but it really depends on where you live and it takes time and effort.

one auction was 33 games and the credits equaled to like $6 but that was cheap bc others had their huge amount of games for triple what i got my 33 for. but ya i only started playing on steam and collecting games just to have them beginning of March and made the account a year ago then forgot about it till i wanted to buy this one early access game.
