Question about giveaway...

I'm trying to make a giveaway with some extra dlc that I have. It's a key. If steam gives me #already-installed and not "This key has been used", does this mean that I used the key or not? I can't remember if I ever did.

If I recall, if you own the game, it will give you the "already own" message, regardless of if the key's used or not.

Just tested with a used key for Lucid and it says "Already Purchased".

Just give away on forums if you're not sure then? I mean if you're giving it away anyway... Make a puzzle or something out of it so ninjas don't do the usual ;).

Quite a conundrum.

You can't know if the key is used without trying to use it, but if you use it then the key will be used.... hmmm
