"Those of you hoping for a game with combat similar to the Playstation 2 or recent PSP title are unfortunately out of luck. According to a blog post on the official Japanese Square Enix site, the new game will be browser based and appears to use some form of the card combat system found in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories. The post talks about players using strategic battle cards acquired in game in order to confront enemies."

Oh well, combat card in chain of memories wasnt so bad i guess

I personally didn't enjoy the original Chain of Memories, but the PS2 Re:CoM remake was much improved. Play that one if you're going to play it

The PS2 version was never released in my country. I'd need a US copy first.

I personally didn't like it. In the original I more or less mastered hitting the max amount of enemies I could with each card, while in the remake the transition to full 3d made it nearly impossible for me to do the same.

That wouldn't be a problem with me. I'd love to play on a TV. Wish I could find a Gameboy Player to solve that problem.

Interesting. I feel like it went the other way for me. On the original, I was alright at it, but the transition to 3D made me much better. It just felt like classic Kingdom Hearts gameplay (with cards).

I very much enjoyed Chain of Memories actually, so I may possibly be interested in this.

SE has been testing f2p cash-grab schemes for a while now with their FF franchise (remember that last iOS game?), so it's not a surprise anymore that they're willing to trial their KH IP now. If anything, it means that they're here to stay, and that those games are absurdly profitable.

Currently in the middle of my Chain of Memories playthrough, so this actually looks interesting. Not sure if I like the idea, though.

If you like a great story (a bit complex) and addicting gameplay you should definitely (did i spell that right?) try it. But stick with KH1 and KH2 first, as the games are spread out amongst the consoles.
