Hello,
here i have something for you:)

At the moment i am looking for some good coop games(not local coop). We played Hero Siege
which is really good but the Multiplayer needs some work until its really good to play^^ Maybe someone has some ideas for similar games like that?:)

Edit:
We played already: Torchlight1+2 / Hammerwatch / Terraria / Trine / Portal / Magicka
I dont like FPS games^^
Forced i will buy today :) - bought^^ If someone is interested in that game too you can get it on Bundlestars for 2,09 Euros at the moment.

Besides the ones already mentioned there's also ARK: Survival Evolved, RUST, Space Engineers/Medieval Engineers, PayDay and Vermintide, Insurgency, etc . You can try the categories on steam here

Games for 2 players only: Portal 2, Battleblock Theater, Orcs Must Die! 2
Games for more players that can just as well be played with 2 people: Borderlands, Borderlands 2, Castle Crashers, Rayman Legends (local coop only), Rayman Origins (local coop only)
Games that I'd recommend playing with at least 3 players: Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, Payday, Payday 2

Resident Evil 5 and 6 are co-op. Portal 2 is one of my favorites.

1) Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris and the earlier game Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light.

2) Also the earlier mentioned Left 4 Dead 2 and it's prequel are really fun, but can be frustrating if you only have 2 players since your team has 4 characters (bots aren't stupid but they won't carry mission items, press buttons etc).

3) Alien Swarm is one hidden gem too and it's free! Though it also needs 4 players (there is a experimental way to add bots but boy do they suck). This game also has user made maps and campaigns. One of my favorite games but alas my gaming friends have moved on to other hobbies and I can't play this alone ;<

4) WH 40k: Dawn of War II and the addon Chaos Rising both have co-op campaign where each player controls 2 heroes. Really interesting choice, especially on higher difficulty levels. And of course because it is Warhammer. "Even in death, I still serve" -Davian Thule as Venerable Dreadnought

5) If you want first person puzzles then Portal 2 will be your choice. I don't think that this game needs introduction :) (Btw will there be Portal 3 before Half Life: Episode 3? :D)

That's all I can come up with short notice, just ask me at steam if you need more ideas ^^

Hello Numeron,
thank you for the ideas:)

Lara Croft Guardian of the Light i tried but my partner was not interested to play that^^

2+3 That i dont like:p

4) I never played a Warhammer game so i am not sure if that is something we are looking for. But i will watch some Lets plays.

5) I really hope they make a third part and that it has more content:)

I can't believe noone mentioned Gauntlet!
http://store.steampowered.com/app/258970/

Another favourite of me and my gf is Dungeon Siege 3, enjoyed much more than Hunted : Demon's forge.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/901638/

Also The First Templar had nice co-op and voice acting so bad it was good.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/57680/

Foul Play is a fun beat-em-up like Castle Crashers, that you can enjoy either solo or co-op

About Dungeon Siege, there are some problems.

I can't speak for the steam version (as I don't own it but the retail CD) but for DS 1 and 2, there will be problems. For DS 1 you would have to use Hamachi or similar service for Co-op and I'm not sure about DS 2 as it used Gamespy, so after the shutdown of Gamespy, I'm not sure what the alternative is.

For DS 3, I assume that steam takes care of the Co-op. But I would still advise against it. DS 3 is the worst game in the series with buggy camera angles and awkward controls. Plus there are problems with Co-op. Both characters have to be on the same screen unless you fiddle around with the console and sometimes you can't import your single player character into the game as the game data is stored on the game host's computer. Also both participants should have the same game version (like DLC etc)

I didn't go in expecting a DEEP game or whatever, as I haven't played the previous ones, but playing coop was a p. good experience. Controls were fine, both on gamepad and keyboard. The camera would indeed sometimes be at a weird angle, but that's far from gamebreaking, and you can just twist a lever/move the mouse to change it. YMMV, but I insist it was a solid co-op experience, and if it doesn't compare to the previous installments, that's a matter for another thread. As a standalone game for the purpose of co-op, it's good enough to mention.

Bonus game at your own risk: LOTR War in the North. Very fun RPG, but kind of a bugfest, so save often or either of you may hit some game breaking glitches and be unable to progress.

Agreed. I was wondering the same as to why no one was mentioning Gauntlet. Either the classic one or the new remake, both of them are one of the best games for co-op.

As for Dungeon Siege III, I really didn't enjoy it. DS 1 and 2 are one of my favourite games of all time ( I own the retail discs for all three) but DS 3 was a disappointment. They really fumbled with the story and general gameplay (not to mention its atrocious camera and controls) I think it is by far the worst game created by Obsidian. Not to mention, it's too linear.

I honestly don't remember right now, I will reinstall and give it a go at home, I don't really remember doing something specific.

I reinstalled the game and checked yesterday, it seems I had created some kind of account from its launcher, I used a junk mail and fake data from what I saw. After that, there's an in-game login screen where you use those credentials and you are taken to some kind of lobby. I've deleted the game again, but if you are still having trouble, add me on steam so we can give it a try.

Since you liked the Torchlight series, I would highly recommend the Van Helsing Series. Well at least the first 2. I have heard the 3rd isn't as good, and haven;t played that one yet.

I second (or third?) Orcs must Die and the Borderlands games. They are both made for Coop.

And Gauntlet is a must as well.
