You have to be genuinely dumb and mediocre; if you just act as such, people will notice your facade and it won't work. You need to degrade yourself to the point of becoming sub-human. If you're already dumb and mediocre, well, you have been blessed with suck and success can only be yours.

Everything that isn't even remotely related to skill or talent will catapult you into absolute success, like being lol-so-random funny, edgy, a greedy whore, quirky, politically correct (you have to ensure no one gets mad or you'll lose views, subs and cash), immensely sensitive or good-looking. Being a girl is 100% fail proof.

Cheap antics will serve you as well: misleading titles and thumbnails, one jump cut per second, improper tagging, taking advantage of human tragedies to gain $ympathy, becoming a partner of the highly dangerous organized crime group Machinima, whoring yourself out in collaborations with lame creators; basic stuff.

You don't need to thank me.

1) Be a hot girl and have a nice pair of boobs.
2) If you're a guy, don't even try it.
3) If the goal of your life is being a "famous" youtuber, your life is very, very sad.

You do gameplay, to get yourself out there doing gameplay (which tonnes of people do) you will need 3 main things.

1 You have to have a good personality, if it's simple Let's Play commentary be entertaining, no "uhh's" or "umm's" takes a while to get to that point, but it helps a lot.

2 Quality. Your videos should be the best quality as you can. 720p or 1080p, to get no black lines edit in the following resolutions (1280x720 or 1650x1080 (or some other 1080p resolution) make sure the editing is nice and clean and everything looks good. Make sure your mic has little static so they can hear you good and that the game audio is loud enough to hear, but quiet enough to not overpower your voice. Make sure to post regularly too.

3 Publicity. You can't just sit there with thousands of other gameplay channels and expect views. You need to advertise yourself. How? Post on Facebook, to your skype friends, twitter, anything social-media that people will see. If you're doing specific games, go to the forums of that games and post something like "Hey I'm doing a let's play series on this game (or whatever you happen to be doing) it would be great if you guys checked it out!) Advertising is one of the most important things you could possibly do to get your channel out there.

These are literally the ONLY things you need to get "youtube famous" I'm not youtube famous myself, I was growing quite well but I had some personal issues happen in my life and I have never got back into the swing of things, but these are things I've picked up in my (nearly) 3 years of youtube posting, and what I've picked up from other bigger youtubes such as Jesse Cox and TotalBiscuit.
