GTX 970 is sexy as f**** nice rig man, preformance-value oriented. Maybe a cheap SSD will not hurt. And will boost your OS very nicely.

Yeah, the price/performance of that GPU is amazing man. I told him about the SSD, but we prefered to focus on the "main" components and maybe in the future put a ~120 gb SSD. Thanks! ^^

u could wait for next year when the new intel processors are up they support up to 16 cores + the new ddr4 and maybe the new geforce 970 will get cheaper because was released couple days ago .... and why not take amd A10 processor is much newer
and ssd are like flash drives they need to be changed often yes the speed is amazing but the lifetime is very low on them

Yo que el compraria 2TB. Y un SSD no vendria mal. Y te recominedo unas Gskill Ripjaws x 2x4 http://www.pccomponentes.com/g_skill_ripjaws_x_ddr3_1600_pc3_12800_8gb_2x4gb_cl9.html
¿Donde has encontrado esos precios?

I have a Seagate HDD and for now I'm going fine :S I came from a Western Digital which broke up and I missed all my data... -.-'

was it WD green, cause they awfully bad for everyday use...
and i think, its not really good idea to buy gtx970 when its just came to the market, if you wanna save some cash) its suppose to be 350 $, not €. instead, if its not emergency, wait for amd rx 3xx to compare, just in case;)(its better with amd gpu+cpu and gpu usually cheaper then nvidia)

I personally feel like 8GB of RAM may be a bit too much, also 8 cores for the CPU ? (I dunno much about the AMD ones though, but I guess I'd recommend an Intel one for the same price, even though it'd have less cores (though the MB price is also to be considered)) All I'm saying is that these are big numbers that aren't necessarily useful for gaming for all I know (well the RAM is fine, but it feels a bit "high-end" compared to the rest) Also, if the SSD isn't an option (real shame though, those things are amazing), maybe consider a 10kRPM HDD for a bit more comfort ? Really depends on your taste I guess, if you need 1TB then there's not much to do without increasing the price, or maybe 2 separate drives of less capacity each, with a fast one for the OS and programs and a slow one for storage, that's what I do and it works great ! I don't know about Nox PSUs, but I recommend caution with those pieces of hardware, much depends on them, and it's really wise not to go too cheap on them... Also if it's modular then it really becomes A LOT more enjoyable to set up (and it would be slightly better for airflow as well)
Still, I recommend trying to get in touch with people who'd know what they're doing much more than myself (or at least to try and compensate overall quality by quantity, to make sure you make the right choices :p), so try forums like Reddit's r/buildapc or Tom's Hardware !

The intel i5 that go for that price range (slightly more expensive) don't come even close to the 8350 in performance.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, I could be, given that I'm right. Research, please.

In the first source you give, you can explicitly see how in 3d gaming performance, the 8350 can be around an i5 2500k - 3470 k. Neither of which is even near the price of a 8350. So, my case stands proven, with your own sources.

What I'm seeing is that in the one game designed to run on anything, it can almost match an i5 2500k, while being slower in nearly everything else.
That's not the point though. Why are you comparing prices of EOL cpus. Haswell is out and faster. Quad core chips are around $180-190. The reason I linked a review without Haswell chips is because finding good reviews that also compare it to Piledriver is hard; there's no point in comparing the two.
You haven't addressed the second link either. Single core IPC is quite lacking.

lol 8Gb is not too much...is the exact you need. This one CPU from AMD is really good, I have it, but if you can buy a good i5 for same price, is better.

Yeah, didn't express myself correctly, they are indeed the ideal amount, but given the rest of the hardware, I thought that something like 4 GB would probably do fine, since this is no high-end gaming we're looking at, and it would allow for a few spare euros to put into something that imo may deserve it more... Really just an average guy's opinion though, gotta be honest :P

No high gaming?....a GTX 970 Twin Frozr V OC 4GB GDDR5 included there, also that FX CPU makes maximum 5 less fps than a good i5, 4Gb is clearly not enought, unless you wanna only use the game having all other applications like browser closed. My PC for example eats more than 5Gb when having browser, itunes, Steam and the game running.

Thanks a lot for you recommendations! I'm doubting with the 8350 or going with Intel :/
Some reviews says the AMD is better, and others just say the opposite -.- Anyway, whatever I choose will work nice IMO.

The FX series has better performance in highly threaded workloads. Anything else, a quad core Intel will do much better.
And the problem isn't average frame rates in games. It's how much stutter and frame lag you get from not having enough single core IPC.

Yes it probably will run well enough indeed... May I ask what kind of games at what kind of settings and with what kind of performance are looking to be played here ? ^_^

Intel is better for CPU IMO and most other people I know agree, AMD can be better on the low end but it still depends, many times an i3 still beats out AMD performance/price wise.
Get an i5.

Make sure its metal, you would be shocked at the performance difference.

Going with an AMD processor and something as strong as a GTX 970 seems funky to me, you are better off with a current gen i5 really, everything else looks alright(You might also wanna look into a better PSU, NEVER CHEAP OUT ON THIS), not much a fan of Asus MB's but thats because I have had 2 burn out, I usuallu go with Gigabyte.

First of all, the components:
-PSU: NOX NX750W ATX -- 50.70€
A DVD writer and a wireless adapter USB sums 20€
A friend of mine asked me to build a PC for him, and I've chosen these ones, the budget he can strictly reach is 850€ (Spain).
Comments please! Thank you all! :)
