Hi! I have few questions about VAC :)

Hi guys. I want to ask a few question about VAC.

  1. In CS 1.6 and Source there are so many insecure servers.. Can i get banned for downloading a bad file or something else from insecure server.. And if it can... Is it true that if you have damaged file and try to enter secured server VAC will worn you that you have damaged files and wont let you enter intill you fix it.
  2. So 60%+ from the servers according to find servers are secured but when I enter and type status in console it sais insecure...
  3. Can i get VAC ban from something different than cheating?

To answer all your questions : VAC aint THAT good, but it wont ban you for custom content or bad files. As long as you don`t cheat or edit the gamefiles too much by yourself the chance of getting a VAC banhammer is one in a million.

It depends on what you count as cheating. I remember they updated VAC a while back and it banned loads of CS1.6 players who used some kind of bunnyhop script.
Basically though, VAC will not ban you if you are playing legitimately. If you're worried about cheats & bans, just play on VAC servers.

Thanks for the answers. Im trying but its so hard to find VAC server on CS 1.6 and Source.. When i connect to them i says that they are VAC secured but when i type status in the console it says insecure... :( Thanks again for the anwers though!
