Why is Steam unable to remember my birthday?

because steam remembers nothing a (some) computer(s) do

Steam is like a bad girlfriend that doesnt give you head on your birthday because he forgot and is feeling sick.

It tells you that birthday information isn't stored.

Because it's not actually about your birthday at all. It's about covering their own asses so that nobody can accuse them of exposing minors to mature material.
I bet they are logging each entry separately whenever you visit such a page so they can show what you declared to the blue boys in case they turn up.

It's not like anyone puts their real DOB in anyway.

I wondered the same thing, since Steam can remember my credit card numbers linked to my own name to allow me to one click buy... Selective memory certainly...

in the end it's because some people cant handle gore or are offended by certain subjects so if you see the birth date verification thing it's just them giving you a small warning

Mine remembers mine o.O it never used to though.

Well my Steam technically remembers my birthday. It's automatically inputted when I enter pages with mature content, but Steam still always asks my birthday when I visit them. I think it's pretty strange that Steam remembers the date of my birthday but still asks it every time. Well, it's just a minor inconvenience, I'm not complaining here.

Unless you accidentally enter the wrong year, in which case it never forgets.

Yeah, very annoying, especially using multiple computers. So I just enter a random year now....

according to the browser version of steam store, I am born jan 1st, 1941.. but the client itself knows the real birthday :/

Same with iTunes asking if I'm over 17 over and over.

it remembers it for me but i just need to press on the "enter"

prob because of dumb legal reasons, at least it keeps the date and just asks me to click enter.... but watch out for that one time it resets for no reason and by habit you insta click enter!
