Multiplayer/ co-op bundle game gems?

What non-game media does your friend like?
Stuff meeting the criteria in the OP I can think of: Magicka, Saints Row: The Third, Killing Floor. GundeadliGne and Metal Slug 3 are also good, but they could be hard for beginners, so maybe leave these two for later.

Portal 2 coop is awesome - don't think it was bundled though

Really Big Sky, I think its still available free via PC Gamer. Fun shoot-em-up with interesting co-op elements.

Monaco is a nice game to play on co-op
