Hope you don't mind, but I peeked at your profile / website a bit and found that you are passionate about martial arts. That's badass.
Happy Cake Day to you ~

By the way, do you think there's any age limit as to when someone can start martial arts? (Sorry if this sounds like a silly question, but there's some things like sports / activities in life, that I would like to try so sometimes I think about this)

Thank you!

When has anyone minded talking about something they're passionate about? 😂

As with ANY physical activity, it's easier to ingrain habits/skills/etc when you're younger, but there's no specific age limit. I only teach adults (or "adults" - I teach at a rec center that sets the standard minimum age for "adult" classes to 13), though it's great when I get a new student who started training other styles when they were young, and I've had students ranging from 13 up through mid 70s. I believe my oldest current student is over 70, and a few others are in their 60s. Most students in that age group come in with prior experience, but a handful of them have started in their 60s.

The real key is knowing what you want out of it and knowing your body's limits. Work within those limits, and work to expand those limits, but if you're in your 40s, don't expect to match a 15-year-old's athleticism and flexibility. And don't push yourself expecting to recover from injuries as quickly as the 15-year-old either. But none of that has to be a problem!

Wow. :o I love that! Would love to meet those folks and see them in action. I'm only 20 so knowing there are people, younger than me and also those decades older who do these is inspiring. Beats me, really haha.

All what you said is insightful :) Definitely agree that learning anything is easier when you're younger, whether it's a sport or a language, etc. Yet still your students prove almost anything can be achievable! Thank you for these information, you seem like a teacher that would be good to have. 👍🏻
