I think the universe hates me.
I've just got Steam Linux beta access, SR:The Third from the THQ bundle which I'd quite like to dip into, and a Half-Life mod to finish that I'm being chased for...

...and so my graphics chip has fried, and is going to cost me a small fortune to fix, and still won't be back up and running until the new year.

So I have a couple of DOTA 2 keys (who doesn't) on offer for anyone who is willing to fake some sympathy for me ;)

Edit: Heh, Loving how no one gives a crap about DOTA anymore. It was my first (and so far, only) SteamGifts win - played it for about half and hour, then uninstalled it. But I'm sure there's still some people out there who are in the unusual position of not owning a copy and still actually wanting a copy.

I feel for you, fellow soul. Fried gfx cards/displays are among the worst 1W problems one can have, especially with a game in the pipeline.

Also, I'm not interested in DOTA2, so you can freely delude yourself that my fake sympathy is not fake after all.

How badly is your graphic card screwed? When my previous card crapped out on me, it only ended up showing strange artifacts in 3D, but 2D was fine. I think I was lucky while unlucky.

Very. BSOD after about 20 seconds of booting.
Took a while to pinpoint it down to the GFX card too, thought it was the RAM to begin with.

It's a laptop.
And I regularly clean the crap out the fans and vents.

I'm liking how everyone's trying to come up with ideas to fix it though, you're all so nice ;) lol.

so shit happened:/ my proposal is to get for free some old pc (there is always some old pc hangin around), fire up linux and get some indies running for holidays. hl also uses to be ok for a low spec pc. not interested in dota2.
