Actually all pets I ever had (and still have one) were stray animals - dogs and cats, but mostly dogs. Your new pet is really sweet:)

My first cat was stray, and she ran away after a couple of years. The second one is with me for almost 15 years.

One time we found a cat in our apartman and it was really cold outside we thought cat could spend night at house but the moment we opened the door (like half an hour later) cat run and didn't come back. Also cat scratch every couch we were trying to find a solution to that. Btw it was my friend who wanted to keep cat i didn't care much. That was only thing can called as a pet for me :( I don't particularly like or hate animals but i don't think i will get a pet.

My current kitty (Destiny) was a stray. Where I live scum like to drop off animals they don't want, I honestly don't know what's wrong with some people. I've had to multiple time take dropped off animals to the vets, the worst one being a box of kittens discarded like trash :( But in the end they where all adopted & given loving homes ^.^ Which is great.

To answer the question.
We did save one few weeks old kitten that was on the verge of starvation... sadly he died some 1,5 years after. Still, I like to think that giving him that year and a half was a good thing.

Also my uncle once found a small puppy in a plastic bag in a trash container. Don't know what kind of an idiot threw him away or why. Possibly because it was quite an ugly puppy that grew into a kinda ugly dog, but he was the smartest animal I ever met and was with us for around 18 years.

I have a turtle. It's training to become a ninja turtle someday :P

Yes, I couldn't do without animals* - and yes, I saved several (though not all by myself) because when I have spare time I help in a shelter and team up with a high school friend of mine who's now a veterinarian.

*restrictions apply to the whole Phylum Arthropoda (with a few exceptions, crabs are kinda cute, ants are fascinating, but beyond that, I eliminate them with nerve agents).

Hm, not really into animals... I don't dislike them or anything, I'm just somewhat indifferent... i.e. I would do something if the animal was hurt but I would not go "oh, a stray, better take care of it"...

I live in a small apartment with other people at the moment and have no conditions to provide a nice home to a dog/cat but I hope I'll have more space one day in the future...
