I'll start with Grapple.
It makes you feels awesome to when you fly through the air. (also, it's been bundled before :D )

The way I see it, it's basically classic Sonic x Rocket Knight (Also known as Sparkster)

Neither of these are underrated, both did great on Steam, and both games are great.

But they are under-known :)

Freedom Planet is well known with 1,960 positive reviews
Most indie games aren't this well regarded, though i agree it's quite exceptional with a lot similarities to other Sega games, not just Sonic.

Great choices! I really like Vagante, I got hooked on the demo last summer. And Towerclimb seems good so far, although its harder than I expected.

Thank you very much for the suggestion, I'll add it to my wishlist :)

I don't think it's underrated (93% positive), I think a lot of people are waiting for it to be officially released. I've had my eye on it since before it hit Steam when I saw it on Desura's alpha fund thing (similar to Steam Early access). It's been on my wishlist since the day it hit Steam Early Access and several of my friends have it wishlisted as well.

It's not underrated, but it's not that well known.
You should consider getting it before it leaves EA, the devs are considering raising the price when it's released. A lot of players said they would have been fine with paying much more than the current price.

White Night Possibly my horror-genre GOTY. I created a similar thread and recommended this same game, and i'm doing it now. Goes to show how awesome I think it is, and of course it's very under-rated imo. Great music, ambiance and vocals.

Dungeon Siege III Had no idea this game had local co-op. Gave it a go with my bestie and we have enjoyed every minute of it. Pretty solid action RPG gamee

Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut Graphically inferior and wonky controls, but Geeeez, the uber weird story makes up for everything else. Totally recommend this one too (@=

Haven't played Dungeon Siege III but parts I & II were nice. And Deadly Premonition is totally way underrated.

3 is very different, which made a lot of people upset. I actually found DS 3 to be the best game in the series, but it's not a popular opinion ;)

Deadly Premonition is a game that's wacky in all the right ways, as is D4. I really hope D4 gets finished.

Is Capitalism II considered "unknown" for it seems no one I ask to play it or happen to talk about it in some convo, absolutely no one knows it?

One indie I love is Type:Rider, nice little side scrolling puzzler about fonts. My favorite AAA has got to be Thief, the first one not the recent remake though I did enjoy it as well.

Permalink

It's not remake, but fourth part of this game. But beside that - I agree with you.

Permalink

Already said it in the previous threads with the same topic, but I'll say it again - And Yet It Moves.

It's a game which has a simple concept, simple graphics, and simple gameplay. But for some reason, I always consider it one of the many "overlooked" games I know, and the one which comes to my mind whenever the question is asked.

Two Worlds II - is the best RPG I've ever played,it's kinda old so bad graphics and stuff but functionality is great!
Does anyone play Spoiler Alert or Blackguards? Enjoyed them a lot.

Two Worlds II - I concur. over 60h in it and counting. Playing MP with my girlfriend, we're having a lot of fun :) But also the single player is nice. Lots of quests to do, nice places to visit. Voice acting sucks though.

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth is highly underrated, but it have tons of bugs. Some may even won't reach the end of the game, because of them. It's my favourite game of all time. That's how i start readinf H.P. Lovecraft :)

If you're interested in kinda same themed games. Have you tried SCP games yet?

Comment has been collapsed.

I know only about that game with the blinking mechanic, but i hate jump scares, i'm rarely play horror game. Games like Silent Hill 2 is prefered horror type for me. I'm even too scared to play Amnesia: The Dark Descent and i want to played badly :D

Permalink

True. Like said. Theme is kinda same, but games are totally different. And that "blinking mechanism" only considers two of the SCPs. One weird doll (the original SCP) and some lizard kind of creature.

Dark Corners of the Earth is fantastic, but indeed has a reputation. Strongly recommended during sales (GMG had a decent one, keep an eye on them). The part when you have to flee from your room, it was sooo good!

Finished it, not too long ago.
Got stuck at the same exact place as last time, rather then searching for a patch i just went to youtube, it helped.
Its still one of my favorites despite its problems, though the first half is much more tense then the rest of the game

Agreed. They dedicated less time to the second part of the game because financial and time constraints and the company went bankrupt soon after release, it's a pity. The game was going to be much more complex and ambitious, and there were two sequels already planned.

This is the trailer of one of those sequels: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJj6v5fLAIA

Nier. I imagine it lost out on high review scores because reviewers played to "Ending A" and thought the game was finished. Nu-uh. Play to Ending B to enjoy one of the finest games of the last generation.
