Man, thats really sad to hear 😥
I remember some interesting back and forth with him every now and then. He was a weird guy in the best way possible.
Rest in peace, mate!

OMG!!! I'm speechless :(
Rip Icaio, you were such a real pillar of this community. I can't process the information, it feels so unreal...

I really felt something very good coming from him, he was also a person to whom I had sincere wishes, especially because, unless I'm mistaken, I had already read something about some health issues of him.
Contrary to what is written at the gates of the first book of Dante's Commedia, he was an example of how we can make a difference, as humans, and find hope.
Ci ha lasciato, ma ci ha fatto ritrovare la speranza!

If this is true, it is very sad indeed. Very generous person, and had a quirky sense of humour (which I enjoyed).
Rest In Peace. :(

May he rest in peace.
He was always a joyful person and an oasis of laughter for me, and brightened my day each time I had the chance to interact with him.
Definitely one of the kindest pillars of this community, he will be deeply missed.

I've been looking around, but for some other reason. I was unsuccessful, but I found other things in my path. He was in an AI site, but I found his X/Twitter account where he showed interest in so many different things, from human rights to games to AI evolution. He made a repost in early September that I think is worth sharing to honour him. Wait until it gets sad.

I'm devastated.
He was a ray of sunshine and put a smile on my face through difficult times and he was always up for a chat to talk about deep stuff and turn it into laughter. We sparred about how AI would change the world for better or for worse and I've been sending him articles over Steam.
I never imagined he was gone. It didn't even occur to me that someone with so much life in him could just blink out so fast.
I already missed him from a few weeks of absence. Now that hole will never be filled.
May he be in a better place where the sun shines and the pasta flows and his sense of humor is as much of a balm to the soul as it was here.

That is heartbreaking. I will always remember him as the unique, kind and generous person that he was. You will be greatly missed, icaio.

Hey all. I am going to start by saying that I do not have any more information than what I am sharing in this post.
EDIT: as it turns out, I do have some more information
As some of you know, icaio has not been on SG for a while, and he hasn't logged into his Steam profile either.
I posted on his Steam profile a few weeks ago, just a quick note saying I hoped he was okay.
Yesterday I received a friend request on Steam from someone I did not recognize. I didn't see any obvious red flags, so I accepted.
This new friend sent me a message today, saying that they were icaio's cousin, and they saw my post on his profile and wanted to let me know that icaio passed away on September 30.

I don't think it's a stretch to say that icaio was an absolute legend of Steamgifts. His generosity, sense of humor and thoughtfulness came through in every 'showerthinking' post and every 'trash' game giveaway and every time he helped to solve a derailment in the community train.
Before I visited Rome a few years ago, caio volunteered to give me his mobile number so I could ask him real-time questions while I was in Italy. And that's exactly what I did! So we didn't quite get a chance to actually meet in person, but it was fun to chat with him while we were in the same country.
Not much more to say right now. Just R.I.P. to icaio, he will always be a Steamgifts legend.
