I wanted to buy a game from cdkeys by using my Revolut card... I even got one just to use it on cdkeys among others. But I can't go trhough checkout... When I click processing it says that it's validated, but then I got notification to check card details.

Not really. I got validated card and at the same it says to check the card details. Don't know if it's error or no, or what caused that. No try (and I tried like 30 times) started payment. And I just got the same ridiculous validation and then telling me to check details.

Payments are way way way more complex than that. Otherwise there won't be problems never ever in the world with paying trhough cards.

Don't see why not. It's got a Visa logo on it so it should be accepted anywhere they take Visa.

I have encountered websites where there is a choice between Visa credit and Visa debit card when selecting what kind of card it is. On the offchance there is something like that on cdkeys, make sure you've got the right one if that's not too obvious.

I just had a quiick google and apparently there's an option in the Revolut app where you can enable or disable e-commerce. Have you checked it's set right?

Could it be some sort of currency issue? Don't think it would be as I'd assume it would convert but if you had your Revolut card in one currency and were trying to pay in another then maybe just maybe it could cause issues although I'd doubt it.

Perhaps you could try linking the card to a paypal account and pay that way if all else fails? Again, paypal should in theory link to Visa easily.

The case is, that's not regular visa card. It's special card. Helpdesk in Revolut said something about prepaid card without 3D secure.

Also I don't know if linking this card to PP will make sense. Can I even chose which card I want to use through PP? And I got this card to don't pay provisions through currency changes. So I just pay for the currency, not for the convertion.

I just resigned. If cdkeys don't know what's the problem and it's probably their fault, and Revolut try to help me but can't cause cdkeys don't answer to my question that was crutial...

Yes, sounds like the 3d Secure thing. Just googled again and there are other people saying they can't use it with merchants that require a card to have it - https://community.revolut.com/t/no-bank-without-3d-secure/13260

You can choose different payment cards or accounts and which one you pay with if you have more than one associated with paypal. It wouldn't really make much sense now anyway that you've explained your reasoning behind getting the card. Sometimes people get pre-paid style cards as a mini savings account of sorts, just to keep a bit of money separately from other accounts to spend on something specific like a hobby, saving up for something etc. If someone had a card for that then might not mind paying Paypal's exchange rate, but as you got it specifically to avoid paying currency change rates them there wouldn't be much point. This no 3d secure thing might even prevent you from using the card in conjunction with paypal, I don't know.

Sorry for late reply. Busy month. It's stupid that we have XXI century and still it's MORE problems with availability/compatibility than we had in XX age. Back then even consoles were back compatible. But now... we never know if the card we have is okay with merchant. I'm mad at current system.

Is that a true credit card or a prepaid one using the Visa system? Many of the prepaid one will not work unless you first go online to register them so they have a matching address the same as your credit account has.

Edit. I don't know how that relates to CDKeys. I'm talking with merchants in general.

Revolut said sth about prepaid card without 3D secure system. Also I paid with that card in other sites. Only cdkeys is the problem.

Not all their listed methods are valid. I believe they're listed more likely to impress than to provide functional alternatives. I tried several times to buy via alternate methods and they didn't work. The only one that worked was PayPal while their lame excuse was a temporal technical issue with the alternate payment methods.

Yeah. For me, XXI age should be age of availability and possibility. But we have not always working things. Even servers of big companies (Steam e.g.) encounters errors, lags and problems way too often than they should. And they are never prepared for bigger traffic at sales etc. How can possible multi-billionaire company be so stingy about buying better/bigger server. And too many single owners, like this belongs to this company, that to that etc. Like DRM clients. To get one game, I have to get Origin, to get another, UPlay, also Rockstar Club for GTA etc etc. Every single developer has to got own platform. It's stupid. It's bigger monopol on products, because You can't buy games outside specific platform so often. And earlier Steam was only platform but there was different keyshops etc that was selling keys, so there was no monopol. Now we have multi-monopols, because You don't buy Starcraft on Steam or Crysis 3. Back them, we had a choice. Nowe we have inconvenient platforms. The same goes with cards, banks and practically everything in life. It's not compatible cause it's just signle-company thing. So if that particular company doesn't want to cooparate with other specific one, it won't be avbailable to use thing XYZ in thing ABC. Like revolut card on cdkeys. And this is only one drop in the ocean of incompatibleness.
