I've had beggers add me, but no scammers yet. The best one was just a couple days ago, here's a brief, paraphrased, transcript:

xxx has added you as a friend
me: hello, do I know you?
xxx: Hi, my name is ashley, you don't know me, I just decided to add you
me: why?
xxx: because I wanted to, why did you accept the request if you didn't know what it was about?
me: that is a very good point
xxx has been removed from friends

Hopefully, the new contributor value system and the permission to give away bundle keys give the admins more time to get to the important matters quicker, to maybe prevent what you went through.
