EDIT: ITS COMING TO XBOX GAME PASS DAY ONE! :)

Did not see any thread about it (i do not check new comments on old threads):

Pre-order is 43.49$ (49.99$ on Steam) at Fanatical https://www.fanatical.com/en/game/like-a-dragon-gaiden-the-man-who-erased-his-name

Overview trailer and some more game info from today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grTtVjPY4YY

Also wanted to know if anyone pre-ordered on the site already, does the activation key comes when you buy it or Fanatical sends when the game releases?

To be fair, 2 years goes by quickly considering how many good games there are and how little time there is :(

Yeah it is on the Yakuza franchise (now title is Like a Dragon to be same as japanese title).

I remember they had Yakuza 3 and 4 on Choice, if they bundled others is probably the ones it was already on gamepass. They didn't bundle the newer games like Yakuza 7, Judgment, Lost Judgment, Ishin, unless i forgot they did.

The only games that got shot down to 75% off and bundled immediately were the older games. They'd only just gotten PC ports, yes, which did make it seem like they were getting discounted/bundled rapidly, but the games themselves were all around 4 years old or older already (and, I believe, all released for the previous generation of consoles or prior, making them no longer actively sold on console [at least, as retail releases, not sure about virtual marketplaces], which may have been a consideration in how they were marketed).

As Jrafaelc already noted, the few newer games that've hit Steam don't seem to be discounting/bundling quickly at all (or at least, they weren't the last time I checked on them). A quick look at Yakuza 7 (released simultaneously in 2020 on xbox consoles and PC) shows that it's only hit 81% off on Steam, and has yet to be bundled. It's difficult to make assumptions on any topic when relating peak covid periods against non peak covid periods but, that consideration aside, that rate of discounting should in theory suggest that a 4 year minimum might be a good guess at a baseline for bundling.

So while we can't necessarily guess at how newer games will be handled moving forward, we can at least conclude they're operating under a different consideration than that of the ports of older games . Only time'll tell which way it goes but, at the very least, we can be sure the game'll at least run the usual AAA burnout period before being considered for bundles.

In short, while pre-orders specifically have been repeatedly proven to always be a bad idea, those wanting the game early (to the point of not being overly concerned with pricing) may still benefit from getting Gaiden early on, compared to trying to hold out on steep sales or bundles.

Conversely, there's been so many Yakuza games put into bundle already, one'd assume that all but the most diehard Yakuza fan would already have one or two unplayed Yakuza games that they could be playing instead, while waiting on at least a 25~50% discount. :P

(Though, to be fair, Judgment and especailly Like a Dragon games are rather different in vibe to the main Yakuza games, so I suppose theoretically someone could be a fan of just a specific IP.)

Seems like it's a little cheaper, so I think I'll check out some other options or look around some more.
