Haha, it does... it's really not the problem, but the fact that someone might have been glad to have it, had I known what it was before the activation.

Do what by myself? Identify a steam code for an unknown game? Yes, I know you need a steamdb extension which I don't use.

They meant removing a game from your Steam account.

That wasn't what my comment was about - I am (still) talking about a wasted activation, while someone could have enjoyed (which I seriously doubt, but still) playing that game, IF I knew which game the code belonged to.

ElBebro answered to mishteuse's comment though, not yours.

Yes, but that was irony though.

Then why did you post a serious question to ElBebro's comment as if it was directed at you while completely ignoring the context in which they posted? And why didn't you just tell them that they might have answered seriously to an ironic comment?

It was mishteuse's comment that was ironic, in case you haven't noticed, not mine :)
I seriously am sorry, that I had to 'waste' a steam code, someone else could have put to good use.

As for ELBebro's comment I wasn't really sure who he wanted to answer to.

Oh I have noticed mishteuse's irony. ElBebro didn't notice it (which isn't uncommon when being confronted with irony from strangers in written form without any kind of hint to it. There's a reason why winking smilies, Kappas and such exist).

So ElBebro tried to help mishteuse by posting the link to where one can choose a game to request a deletion from ones Steam library.

Then you didn't notice that ElBebro wasn't talking to you and asked "Do what by myself?". This is where your confusion began.

And I hope this is where it ends. ^^

Since I was also asking a question (about how to identify an unknown active steam code) I was kinda thinking that he might have answered me instead of the other comment. And yes I know, I'm lazy and I should use the extension, but the thing is I usually don't use unknown/unidentified keys, except for this Indigala event, where there are several games present from my wishlist :)

But yes, it's all cleared up now - I hope.

oh, i'm sorry i started such a debate. all is cleared now and it's all good.
in retrospect, i understand now what Atisz was pointing out.
i now wish, without irony :), that IG would tell us what we win on that gameplay.

Well this is the very strange: I won Magicka - VIetnam DLC WHICH I ALREADY HAD and apparently it still allowed it to be activated for the second time.

Some publishers have multiple subs for the same game/DLC including different fake apps so they can all be activated on the same account while giving no real added value.

This key was for:

https://steamdb.info/sub/7783/apps/

There's also for example:

https://steamdb.info/sub/7815/apps/

and a lot of bundles/packages that include the Vietnam DLC:

https://steamdb.info/app/42918/subs/

Some of these also include different fake apps to make sure they still get activated even if you already own everything in them.

Yes, I probably got it before as part of a 'complete pack' or something. Still it's kind of unfair, since (again) I could have given the key to someone who wants this, instead of activating it a second time...
