Are you exited?
EDIT: Apparently they removed the DRM. This is good news!
I wish them the best and I hope this DLC helps them with the money problems, but they could have focus on the players who actually have the game now and offer good sales on the first DLC, clean the drm and so on

TAGES you say? Very odd since it's also available on GOG. oh well, I just want some improvements to the engine as I can't quite get past some of it's current quirks.
Edit: I'm not sure I'm reading you right regarding this, do you consider giving the base game away to be a bad thing?
Comment has been collapsed.
It depends a lot on the game. In some GOG releases people have found cracks with messages from cracking groups, so they did not really "remove" the DRM. And of course we have the famous instance when Ubisoft patched Rainbow Six Vegas 2 and accidentally added a disc check to it (for the version found on digital distribution sites), something that they then were completely unable to fix and were forced to use a crack they found on gamecopy world to get around their own DRM that they accidentally added to their game.
It should by the way be noted that the GOG version of Two Worlds II was not completely DRM free either. Not if you wanted to access the online portions of the game.

From what I understand it was just a case of a serial number though?
Edit: Regarding cracks and what not for removing DRM. This only indicates that the developer/publisher are ok with the removal but are not willing to put the work in themselves. I'm absolutely positive that Ubisoft could have removed the disc check if they wanted but decided that the easiest, most cheap, way was to simply distribute the already working crack.

Yeah, it's possible that they could have fixed it if given some time. But they decided that it was easier to just break the law instead (the crack does contain someone else's code, so distributing it without their permission is highly illegal. That's actually true for what GOG does as well).
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, I don't know if they went out and asked the people who made the cracks, but I do know that they have used cracks in the past, there's been multiple threads on the GOG forum of people who went in with hex editors and looked at the files, and sometimes GOG even left information from the cracking groups in the install folder, the kind you would get with the crack.

Yeah, I've read about this as well. I just wonder about the actual legal status. I would have assumed that these reasonable large businesses know what they're doing but then again I'm constantly surprised and amazed about certain business practices. It would be interesting to read an informed discussion about the legal and moral status regarding this issue.

I remember reading bad things about Topware:
http://www.gamasutra.com/blogs/PugetAlain/20141118/230420/Nearly_Ripped_off_to_death_by_a_publisher__Get_better_by_yourself_and_wait_for_justice_Maybe.php
Although that article is quite old and I have no idea how that situation was resolved in the end.

Transcipted is back on Steam and from the little I've seen it looks quite good.

There are a couple of threads (including some posts by the Dev of Transcripted) in the Discussions forum of Transcripted on Steam about it. They got the rights back, but still got royally screwed by the Publishers!

I haven't actually played Two Worlds II yet. I've started out a couple of times but I could never get in to it so I'm having high hopes for the changes this update will bring.
I'm seemingly one of the few people that really enjoys Two Words though and I've spent an obscene amount of time playing that game :) (In case anyone thinks I'm a weirdo for saying that 80 hours is an obscene amount of time, this is probably not even 10% of the time I've spent in this game. I just got stuck playing when checking out the differences from the GoG verison :P)

I loved playing Two Worlds. I bought it when it first came out, and played the heck out of it! I got stuck somewhere, and then ended up getting a new computer. They didn't have flash drives back then, so my save files were lost!
Now that I have it on Steam, I really should play it again someday!

I'm probably not very representative but imho it's a very good game if you can learn to look past it's very obvious flaws. Namely bad bad voice acting and cut scenes. It's also not very uhm... casual friendly or even a bit tedious from the beginning but once you get used to the interface and level up a bit things get easier :)

I also found the graphics to be pretty darned good, and it looked amazing even on my potato computer!:)

I found the storm effects to be particularly pleasing, especially with regards to the grass and the trees swaying in the wind. I had a lot of fun at the graveyard (I think it was part of the main quest when I was in it, but I can't recall at the moment).
One thing I liked was being able to "upgrade" a weapon if you found another one of the same type. I must have upgraded my sword at least 60 times!

That's true, but still a nice offer in my opinion. I mean, a good pre-order discount is still the best pre-order bonus for me.

I tried to buy the game but the site it just broken on all levels.
I even tried to ask the devs about this and they said : "What has the site have to do with the game " ... OK :)) :( !
So I don't have the option to buy it ... I will wait until is very cheap :D !

I got curious and a bit impatient and decided to check if I could detect what they had patched already. Sadly the still prevailing DRM put an end to my plans so I guess I'll have to wait until tomorrow. Thinking back this is probably one of the main reasons I've only ever played this game a couple of hours at a time.

TW II has pretty interesting multiplayer mode, and most of my playtime for the game on Steam(i have it off Steam too), was in MP, with my girlfriend. Grindy, but fun, and you can do nice missions together. Whole MP experience for us was basically "go on a mission, level up, gear up for the next one." In MP you also own your own village, where you build various amenities, like blacksmith, sorcerer shop, etc. Village is your main source of income as well. It is upgradeable, and all that.
Single player campaign wasn't the best, true, but it kept me going, through the entirety + DLC campaign.. It is bearable. All things consider I found TW II to be a positive surprise. I hated TW, saw is only as a rip off from Gothic and Risen, I and was very sceptical about picking TW II when it came out. As it turned out I spent quite a number of hours off Steam, and on Steam. Now I just need to get my hands on the new DLC.

Das one salty mofo of a dev lmao
"We removed the DRM, but microtransactions are fun, right guys?"

Or the janitor...
Dirk P. Hassinger, a janitor, who is send to an abandoned game once played by the many. When he enters he gets out console with a went-wrong experiment of the micro-transactions and has to worry about his profitz! On the way to profitz he has to struggle with the horrific forum replies!

The funny thing is the first thing that comes up when you google his name is that he and 2 other former Topware CEOs have been convicted of tax fraud for several million euros and have been charged with 500 hours of Community service.
Seems like a swell fella :D

From the Steam discussion:
You thought console commands could affect Steam wallet? Really? You really thought that?
Don't tell me you were not aware that you could change your steam wallet from the Two Worlds II console. I mean, you have a lot of game for someone not able to manipulate your steam wallet ;)
Comment has been collapsed.
Tbh, it doesn't bother me, but it's a really shit move and the comments by the developer only make it worse.

And what goes perfectly with adding microtransactions to a 6 year old singleplayer game ?
Locking access to the console so people won't just spawn the same thing they are supposed to buy in the ingame store over the console :D
Works particularly well in buggy games where you need the console to fix bugs like your horse disappearing.

I'm quite disappointed with the so called new engine. Tested the game out a bit yesterday but the only real difference I could detect was a lot more tearing in the intro sequence oddly enough. The game still has weird delays on almost everything I do, like opening inventory or even starting to run/walk. There's also a lot of slowdowns where I assume the engine are loading new resources, and this is even indoors as I have not even gotten past the intro yet. Can't imagine how it would play outdoors.

base game+Pirates dlc don't work for me 😭 I just can't start it after 25mb update 😮 Anyway, they added achievments, after all fixes i will play base game+pirates and 99% sure i will buy season pass someday 😊
Two Worlds 2 is a great game, so sad that devs made this shit with their fans 😌
Comment has been collapsed.
Exactly this, it just takes too long for the loot boxes to open and there's some weird delay or at least some very overexaggerated inertia going on when I want my character to move around. I'll have to admit that I haven't done any research into the matter and maybe we'll be able to change this behavior once they enable the console again.

Humble Sale
TWO WORLDS II - CALL OF THE TENEBRAE (DLC) - €4,49
TWO WORLDS II HD - CALL OF THE TENEBRAE (Stand Alone) - €2,69
Odd pricing policy imho. I'd probably buy the DLC if it was the same price as the standalone and surely if it had the same discount.

Topware sell their games in russian lequeshops - u can buy almost all games for 0,03-0,05$ (for example Two Worlds II Castle Defense and Iron Sky Invasion) .
So i will wait till they add CALL OF THE TENEBRAE to those shady shops 乁( ◔ ౪◔)ㄏ
Or wait 75% discount to season pass in steam store 💮

TWO WORLDS II - CALL OF THE TENEBRAE (DLC) - €4,49
TWO WORLDS II HD - CALL OF THE TENEBRAE (Stand Alone) - €2,69
This morning I noticed a fairly big update for Two Worlds II and remembered they, TopWare, were supposed to have a expansion/DLC out by now. Turns out they are releasing it both as a standalone and DLC with the release date June 15.
I'm fairly exited about this as the DLC/patch version, at least when initially announced, were supposed to improve on the original engine. I've not had the time to find out if these, much needed, improvements are going to be available to everyone regardless of buying the new DLC or not but that was my initial impression when first reading about this long ago.
There's also a couple of soundtracks and a some deluxe content available for purchase for completionists and "rabid" fans. Feels like milking to me but I guess this is what we have to expect these days.
Two Worlds II HD - Call of the Tenebrae (€10,49 @ TopWare Shop (30% discount))
Two Worlds II - Call of the Tenebrae (€6,99 @ TopWare Shop (30% discount))
Edit: I decided to share a little gift for people wanting to give Two Worlds a try when this DLC hits. Good luck everyone :)
