Should I?
Actually its the first AC game i will play till the end.. all others good boring with time spend ingame..but this one...just WOW..the whole Egypt theme is just interesting... but you should better read reviews or watch videos...than listen to random internet strangers from a forum. ;-)

I'd rather take some random comments from a forum other than paid reviews imo

I had a deep reading through ACO forum talking about DRM and I found it informative.

Well, once you get through Steam's terrible review interface to pick past the slew of dubious reviews and spam reviews, you'll end up with a handful of reviews that likely won't quite give you the info you want, and even if the review writer responds to questions you leave them, it's still just the one individual's input.
Here, you can get dynamic feedback from multiple people, all working off each other- contrasting, expanding, detailing. Forums are a splendid way to get precise information on something, and SG does not lack for people with strong opinions and ready information on an expansive array of entertainment hobbies.
Of course, we have our own invariable "spam review" responses as well, so I guess you just can't escape those entirely. :X

I'm at the middle of the game actually and I enjoy it.
I've played the 1st and 2nd,the last AC I've played was Brotherhood, and I've stop playing after this one because all others looks the same, one per year...
After many years, I'm glad to discover the origin of the story and Egypt is quite exotic to explore.
Because what I really like in the game, is the world: big, beautiful and full of things to discover...
It's like playing The Witcher 3 in the sand ^^'
(Bayek, the hero is a little less charismatic than Geralt but... c'mon it's hard to be better than Geralt ^^')
I can't tell about the whole scenario for now, but so far it's kinda classic, but pleasant in the historical context.
Almost all the sub-quests are interesting to do and it feel less repetitive than the others AC I've played.

No. Hopefully then they will stop making this crap.

why does everyone always jump the hate train ? While the game does get repetative and glitchy at times, it has amazing story, amazing visuals and all in all a great game. I think I have played every single game. And finished all them too. Except the new one.
I see this more then often. People just bashing ubisoft for everything. Shitting on AC series without even playing them.
I for one am looking forward to try the new one. it has to be really great if theres not biased hate train about it already.

Maybe people played them and think they are not great?
I mean, you can like them, but i played the first one and was the most repetitive thing ever, never bothered with the rest. Also Ubisoft games are quite homogeneous, you played one, you played all of them. They got the fame they deserve.

Not every game can offer such a varied experience like DOTA 2 and Counterstrike GO ^^
Actually AC changes quite a bit after part 1. It's basically still the same in new packaging but they completely scrapped the gathering information part. Sadly that also means that there is more or less a fixed approach for every assassination while the first one left you more freedom and planning.

This is where the problem starts :D For some dumb reason everyone says the first one is the best AC game..
I finished that one years ago, when it was considered awesome.
The later games arent that repetative. They are much more enjoyable and I suggest everyone to try out newer parts.. Even brotherhood.. Or third AC.. They all basically have much better game mechanics and story then any of the first AC games..
Oh I dont have anything against the fact you just dont like it.. Everyones got different taste. But I could bet most of these comments about how bad it is are pretty biased. Usually built up by YT gamers who just rant for no reason. And it ends up being hated game by people who havent even played it.

i also found the first one to be completely boring. stopped playing after a few hours. didn't even touch most AC games after that. and i am completely loving AC:O right now. it is actually quite different. it's a really good game, actually. who would have thought. ;)
and to say they should stop making them is just silly. he tells us to not be silly, yet he is. ^^ people can dislike those games. that's fine. even if they haven't played them - fine. but to act as if the sheer presence of those games hurts him - now that's silly.

if you like the ac francise like i do get it, i started to play through all ac's again even tho i havent played all of them (currently at revelations), so after i have finished syndicate ill grab the new one without a doubt

The DRM is there. Whether it causes an issue... we don't know. One cracker said that it's causing high CPU utilization, while Ubisoft says that it's not the DRM but the game itself that's taxing your CPU. If you meet the recommended specs, you should be fine, and I've only heard it as an issue from those with lower end CPUs. Ubisoft are apparently working on a fix to make it run better on CPUs closer to the minimum requirements.
I did hear about some issues with AMD cards, which is unfortunate, but I didn't really look into that so I'm not sure what the issues are and whether they've been fixed or not.

try it out. if it doesn't run well enough, refund. i personally find the game absolutely fantastic.

Yes, it's a really nice game. Got it on uplay and I love it so far. So far, I was thinking that Syndicate was the best Assassin's Creed game, but now I think that Origins is the one.

It's one of the better AC games, and if you enjoy the series you will likely enjoy this game too.
Whether the DRM is to blame for the high CPU utilization or not, the game is currently very CPU dependent. If you meet the recommended requirements, it should run just fine, but those on lower end CPUs may struggle. Ubisoft is apparently working on a fix at the moment.

Well I for one voted yes - beacuase I like them - they give me hours of playtime and can be very fun to waste a few hours - which is surely what a game is all about. I watched the new one being played on twitch at the streamerhouse and found it to be a beautiful looking game :P if I could afford it I would buy it in a heartbeat :)
remember - play what you enjoy, not what others expect you to enjoy :)

I think you need a bump. I feel lonely as the only entry ;)

Because it's the shortest train, looping on purpose.

I'm a hardcore AC fan. It's a pretty good game, much better than the series' more recent entries. Lots of attention to detail and generally fun missions. My only real problem with it is that my i7 6700k is always at almost full load when playing the game (can be fixed by just turning off the internet while playing, but it's not necessary) causing the occasional stutter, and the patches have caused minor issues with the graphics and they haven't fixed them completely yet, but apparently they're working on it.
Like I mentioned I'm a pretty huge fan of the series and because I'm disappointed with the storyline I'm a bit disappointed with the game as a whole, but it's not bad per se and the main protagonist is complex and very well written. The gameplay is good, especially the combat and archery, however the stealth is lackluster. Side quests range from really detailed to plain boring, but have much more variety than previous entries. Same with other side content like forts and treasures, it can be repetitive but it's generally fun.
I'm sick of people jumping on the hate train just because it's a Ubisoft/Assassin's Creed game. It's worthy of a lot of criticism and I do have things that I don't like about it but it's a generally good game, especially if you're a more casual fan of the series and don't care about the modern day story.
Do yourself a favor and don't buy the gold or deluxe editions though. The game is absolutely worth the $40 on sale and if you like it the season pass is worth a buy, but don't commit entirely when they haven't even released the major expansions yet. They could suck, we don't know. For now stick to the base game.

I really love the new mechanics differ greatly from previous ACs. But my friend told me it is nothing special except graphics. So it's a tough decision and I hope SGers can give me some opinions. I heard about DRM ruining the gameplay experience atm. My Pc passes recommended requirement (except CPU which passes minimum) but I pressed X it will run smoothly with those DRMs.
Here is a video about Wireless VR including setups and GORN gameplays (loudest YTer ever).
Edit: My BD (24th) and SG cake day (25th) has passed!!!
I am packing a copy of ACO as a present to you.
Wait, I'm not Santa, am I?
I should be receiving presents on my BD, not giving. But who cares?
