No. I, too, hate it when people say "b-day". It's just so lazy.

We should implement a system like the one on Facebook. Birthdays today: bla bla bla

Nobody would ever check that.

I think it's more an open invitation to "Hey, what random generous person is going to get me something!? winkwink

It seems to me that whenever people say it's their birthday, they are:
A)Lying
B)Not telling the truth
C)Hoping for a "gift"
D)Being honest

I don't hate people who post such threads. It's their birthday, and they deserve a little love for not dying

Anyway seriously the birthday threads are just plain stupid. I had a guy on my Steam that had no money whatsoever so he decide to create a giveaway for some game (can't remember what was the game) and he thought that making the giveaway will get him the game... now thats even worse than the birthday threads :D

This site is full of 12 yo kids, so don't expect quality posts here, just random gibberish and childish stuff.

People want validation. Same kind of people who clamor about blocking somebody in a chat channel or claiming in a forum they refuse to buy X game for Y reason. It's all validation.

But hey if you want to remove one of the few small joys I have in my life, celebrating my birthday on this website by doing some giveaways and making a thread, then I guess my personal happiness is a small sacrifice for you to be slightly less annoyed by a forum thread that you could easily just not click on.

I agree, it is annoying and pointless. Just like the "I win nothing yet" posts are.

I'm annoyed by people who is annoyed by other people's posts :P

Just a warning, December 2nd, my 21st birthday. I may very well come on to these forums on the way home from the bar, and spout nonsensical sweet nothings to random SG'ers.

I personally enjoy wishing people a happy birthday :p, why not? Takes only a couple min, or less if your in a rush, and maybe you'll make somebody feel a bit better in case they're going through something a bit difficult in their life. If you don't like them, ignore them. Fairly easy task.
