But here is the latest resource directory: http://www24.zippyshare.com/v/11844816/file.html
You need to unzip DayZ.zip into ...MTA San Andreas 1.3\mods\deathmatch\resources\DayZ
If you can't connect it might be your connection or something.
Good luck.

Today at 07:39:47 pm - Marwin: idk i am not at home ill be back in 1 hour.
Today at 08:53:49 pm - SHEN: you should really do something about the lag, cap the players or upgrade the server.
Today at 09:07:33 pm - Marwin: man i do, but i am not at home atm.
We must wait until he restarts the server ;\

yeap, now I can't connect to any server.
EDiT: I had to reinstall MTA to see the server list :|
Still connection timed out.

MTA:SA has SA-MP inself - depends what kind of MTA installation type you choose.
But you should install full-MTA.

Oh my bad, yes you need the full-MTA release: http://mirror.multitheftauto.com/mtasa/main/mtasa-1.3.1.exe
Forgot about SA-MP.

Please don't attract even more retards to it. We've already got a rampant BR problem.

Does this work with steam version of SA?
I read about it and I didn't actually understand what I should do

Okay I don't have the steam version but I have a retail cd version which is also 1.01 (same as steam version). This is what I did to get it to work.
I had 1 more step after I did the downgrade the game stopped starting and was complaining about my CD not being in drive, even when I had the retail CD inside my only drive. I had to download a no cd executable to make it work. I don't want to post links but check my first post and find the image guide there is more info about that there. Basically in some cases you will NEED a no cd for legitimate reasons, because the CD is version 1.01 and the downgrade makes your version 1.0 so when it checks your CD it finds 1.01 and start complaining about the wrong files. Copy protection sucks sometimes, and without version 1.0 SA you cannot play MultiTheftAuto. But try the first 3 steps first.

I love you for putting this up in here.
I had so much fun, I played to like 3 AM, and I am just about to go and play some more.
Epic, just epic, even in Alpha I was so surprised it came so well.
If you by any chance know the admin (Marwin) could you please tell him to contact me somehow? You can give him my steam acc, if he has one.
Cheers mate !
P.S. Ingame nickname is: Argamore :)

I played for quite a while, and will play more when my friend sets it up as well...
Overall it's a good idea, there are a few bugs and lags every once in a while, but it's Alpha so I wasn't expecting anything amazing.
What I've noticed so far is that it is extremely easy to find weapons, good ones too. I died about 4 times and got the best shotgun in every life. It could provide more guidance for things such as setting up fire/tents but it is possible to figure it out yourself or by asking someone.
I'd also say that zombies are too damn easy to kill, you can outrun them in a couple of seconds, sneak right behind their back and so on... The real threat in this mod is other people, they don't seem friendly and even if you just spawn they will start punching the hell out of you. I'd suggest making zombies more difficult to kill, so players actually have to cooperate to defeat them easier.

Once you patch the steam version you can run MTA, and this mod is just one of them. There tons and tons more, some servers have like 300 people on them various type of game mods like racing, rpgs, etc. I just discovered it myself for the first time but they community is pretty big because the game runs on so many different low end computers.

Thats awesome. Looks like they just released a new patch last month too. Might give this a shot.
Also, this is the new URL: http://mtasa.com/

That's only a patch to the multiplayer adaption. The DayZ-mod which requires the multiplayer adaption (aka Multi Theft Auto: San Andreas or mtasa) seems to be dead since April 2013 ModDB Link or not active since April 2014 Spanish or Portuguese Blog (cannot tell)
Edit: actually the forum seems somewhat active: http://mtaz.wikiforum.net/forum

So I recently found this awesome mod for GTA San Andreas that takes most of the concepts from DayZ ARMA2 mod and places them into the San Andreas environment: http://dayz-mta.net
Has anyone played or heard of it? It might be a little difficult to setup as it requires San Andreas + MultiTheftAuto (Free Multiplayer), you then connect to the server running the game at: 176.65.141.184:22003
If you have a steam version of San Andreas you will need to downgrade it to version 1.0 to get MultiTheftAuto to work for it, it may require the use of a no cd executable. I had the same issue with a retail 1.0.1, I wrote an in depth guide about the game
There is also this info graphic guide that I made: http://i.imgur.com/HLJhw.jpg (with help from /vg/)
Anyways it's well worth the effort to setup the game and the game runs on older computer quite well. I never tried DayZ ARMA2 so this is the next best thing, plus the whole San Andreas environment is incredible with 80-100 players.
Let me know if you give it a try or if you ever played it before.
Here is a screenshot of me killing a zombie while it was raining earlier: http://i.imgur.com/cPV5c.jpg
