Hey all,
I'm fairly new to the site, I've just given away a humble gift key only to find out that half an hour after I sent the key, the winner has begun giving away the same game (without even the decency to leave some feedback which should push me up to lvl 2)
Is this against the sites rules? how would I go about reporting this if this is the case?

Thanks for your help

It is against the rules to regift any wins. On their profile, you will find a option to send in a ticket to support. Also, be sure to use the blacklist option so they can't enter more of your giveaways.

Also, found them myself, not the first time they have done this. :(
Well, now they are blacklisted from mine.

A shame it wasn't discovered earlier. Hopefully it won't ruin your time here. Best of luck in the future.

Is it a public GA? Because I think I found them too...if it's the game I think it is, there's only one GA of it available but I just wanna be sure before I blacklist them

I tried to see who it was, but it's listed as anonymous, are they still lurking about? I'd like to blacklist them as well...

I assume it's not the Guardians of Middle-earth giveaway but one of the others.

you didn't need to browse them all tho. just search the giveaway. crosscheck the giveaway creator(s) with entrants of op's giveaway. that's it! :P

Well he didn't got feedback, so it's Guardians.

They should really change that anonymous thing, it only allows people to do stuff like that.

Sorry, I misread ! I thought he had specifically said that the guy had given feedback.

Calling out is against forum rules. Delete this before you get in trouble yourself.

We know who it is.

Keeping this information anonymous is like keeping anonymous a criminal. NOT FAIR.

Witch hunts are not fair either.

It's not about hunting, but protecting Yourself.

Not really, picture this, lets say that the winner of harvz giveaway, forgot to activate the key, and said to himself "hey I have the same game key for this game that I won, I'll give it away to return the generosity" and gives away the same game but with a key of his own that he had but had forgotten. Meanwhile this thread is created, and if there was no 'no calling out' rule, everyone would trash talking about that user, and maybe even add him on steam to be rude at him, and everyone would be blacklisting him. So after all that, someone adds him and says that he didn't activated the game he won [he doesnt know about this thread] and he says sorry and activated the game with the key given by harvz, so he basically was just distracted, and maybe that is why he didnt sent feedback because he forgot to activate it.

He activates it and its all good.

So at that point he has 35234234 users that blacklisted him unfairly and a thread dedicated to him because of a misunderstood.

Not saying that it is what is happening, just explaining why 'no calling out rule' is needed

Except it would result in a witchhunt, which to be honest I am all for as a bit of sport, but 99% of the time they lead to Chaos and Chaos is HERESY!

Yeah, sorry. Who knows, the key may be returned unclaimed and we may be able to do a first come- first served forum giveaway.

That rule is to protect people who are being accused of something.

Keeping information anonymous is actually essential when you don't know exactly what happened or even if that person is being falsely accused.

In this case if it happens to be a breaking of the rules, you have nothing to worry about it, mods will take care of it

As others mentioned, please send a ticket to support. One of the site's guidelines mentions :

  • If you have an issue with another user, submit a ticket with a user report, rather than calling them out within the community or on the forum.

So please don't take issues like this to the forum. I am not sure why nobody mentioned it but indirectly calling someone out is still a problem. Closing this thread.
