Tl;dr - no GIB, just thoughts

I think I had around 350 people in my blacklist.
Now I have 0.

I hated:

  • regifters
  • bots
  • leechers
  • price-glitch users and advertisers
  • mega-dlcks
  • leaked giveaway participants

Now:

  • nothing :)

I realized 2 things:

  1. If you look at any 0 level giveaway which last more than 2 or 3 days - check participants xD
    Oh lawld! Those ratios!
  2. Why was I bothering so much about someone else conscience or morality.
    It's not my life.
And by that - all that blacklist thing - is pointless :)

Moreover - by making gibs I am feeling very postive wave of feelings :)
By sending keys / gifts - I feel much more joyness :D
And when I think about it - all those bots / regifters / leechers - are enjoying winning those games, so somehow - I made them happy :)

And whoa! Positive vibrations are back :D

I just cleared mine out, although I have resorted to using SGtools to filter out people instead

way easier to filter out rulebreakers that way, and you can set ratios, levels etc... if you want

I only had about 17 on my BL

Can't someone just bypass SGtools and leak the link? Also, If they did, does the giveaway with SGtools fall under the rules of SG and can you request a reroll?

Reroll

I have had 2 SGT party crashers to date. They got the link most probably by a buddy of theirs.

Now they are blacklisted forever.

When I spent only $6.70 to increase my level from 5.09 to 6.09 and gave away all region locked games to my Russian friends I was happy. And for now I'm ready to win even more expensive raw gifts and keys. But you know what? People here are much more better than I thought. Only a few of them decided to blacklisted me for that. That's impressive!

I've only blacklisted 3 people, because they blacklisted me first (mostly unreasonably). xD Other than that, why blacklist people? Will you feel better by doing that? The answer is no. ;)

I mean, I usually feel better when I make a giveaway and know that a leech or scammer isn't going to win it.

With the same logic, I would feel better if I would give a game to some friends of mine. So, why not make a giveaway for 5 friends of mine and take the cv too? :B I'm ironic, of course, but what I mean is that it's better to give a game away for everyone. If he has done something bad (I'm not talking about leeching, but about something bad), then report him and reroll. ;P

I wouldn't prefer to give it to just friends of mine because I believe there are people who deserve it much more than them on this site.

I just meant that there is not a reason to blacklist people, except if they blacklisted you first or they've been extremely impolite towards you. Other than that, reporting and rerolling sounds good. :B

But I have my reasons for trying to let people who deserve the giveaway more have a higher chance.

I used to be a blacklist pacifist until I recently stumbled upon a thread about a certain multiple wins troll that led to my first use of the blacklist. Now I have 13 people on my blacklist. However I have 121 people on my whitelist and I might cut down my blacklist soon, SG tools means no need to blacklist super leechers (1:10 or worse sent to won Ratio) so most of my blacklist will disappear!
All that will be left is troll, troll's alt and two accounts I reported for ref links!
I just can't stand multiple wins and bloody ref links; enough of those already on steam so I don't need to see anyMORE on SG!

I completely agree with the second thing you realized, that's why I don't sue the blacklist feature =)

Some people don't understand that this is a giveaway site and demand others to make giveaways without comprehending that everyone goes through very different things in life and may not be able to create giveaways.

There's a lot of user with very high ratios and happy-trigger-fingers that blacklist people who don't meet their personal, subjective and close-minded standards. They call everyone who has been lucky enough to win some games a Leecher and pretend to be the bringers of justice on SG by blacklisting them.

I had a few users blacklisted until recently, but I think they might want my GAs too, so why should I blacklist them - let them be happy too.
Even if I know I'm still in some of the blacklists for various reasons.

The more important question is how many people are on your whitelist?

I have around 100 or so blacklisted, but I only blacklist regifters, people who havent activated wins in the last three months, and people who are a-holes on the forums/in comments. The majority of the people on my list are rule breakers though.

I usually check to see if the rule breakers are still regifting/not activating and remove the ones that started following the rules. A-holes stay on for good for the most part. Disagreeing on the forums, or having an opinion is one thing, but you dont need to be nasty to people to express it.

No way there are 109 users with no one their BL. the hate here is too much
for me, i got to your conclusions a few months ago. and if it's a good game that i like it's usually Whitelist GA or specific groups

I don't have anyone on my blacklist, i'm not even really sure what a black list is or how to use it.... I try to follow the rules to the best of my ability, and try to give away as much as possible. My main hold back on giving things away is I'm lazy.. I have about 300 games I want to give away but I'm just too lazy to actually go make the give aways..

actually nevermind, I have 1 person, someone who entered my giveaway and never activated their win or marked received...

Originally the only time I would blacklist is if someone had won a giveaway of mine with a disgraceful ratio. It wasn't anything personal specifically because of the ratio, but that person had now won something from me, so I would prefer if other people got ever so slightly better chances. I mostly got around that by since mainly making higher level giveaways though. I rarely make a giveaway for less than lv3's unless it's for groups.
