Can I play "The Baconing" without having played...

...any other Deathspank game before. I would like to buy the game but I dont want to buy it when it actually needs background information for the story from other Deathspank games...

It's referenced a couple of times but most of the things get explained

They intentionally didn't name it "Deathspank 3" to stop people from worrying about that.

If you're going to get a Deathspank game, get the first one. The Baconing sucks in comparison, sure it has ranged weapons and etc. But that doesn't make up for the comedy of Ron Gilbert.
