I found out about HB many years ago on a game I used to play. A friend had a friend who had a game in a bundle. I thought it was just a one time thing. Didn't realize Humble would have bundles over and over. Completely forgot about it until I found this site one day.

Happy anniversary!
I really not sure how I discovered bundles. But I think I read about Humble Bundle website on the news, when it was still young and media was still reporting on new deals there.

i really dont remember how i found out about them. my first bundle appears to be "Humble Bundle: PC and Android 8", but i had picked up FTL from the humble store a month before that.

Almost the same thing happened to me. Ages ago I purchased the retail DVD of the orange box only to find that I had to install steam in order to play the games. After finishing Half-life 2 and Portal I stopped using steam and completely forgot about it.
Then I read about this new thing (for me) about paying what you like for bundles and my first purchase was Humble Indie 6. I created a new steam account because I had forgotten about my previous one. To make the story short, three years later I own over 600 games.
Thanks for the nice train :)

Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.... So you're telling me you acquired around 4000 Steam games just this year? Haha
My first bundle was Humble Indie Bundle 5. I didn't even buy it, my friend did. I just stole the Steam keys. He just wanted the DRM-free copies. Hahaha

Thanks for the looong train, just entered 1 giveaway but thats totally fine :)
I find out about bundles soon after I signed up on Steam (this January), I was browsing through a lot of games and added them to my wishlist, I was also reading many reviews and someone mentioned something like "I got this game in a cheap bundle (...)" so I did research on that, bookmarked all common bundle sites and checked everyday. Until I joined EpicBundle and other bundle tracking groups on Steam that made my life a little easier. :D

On Nov. 8th, it will have been one year since I bought my very first bundle! Why is this significant you ask? Well, I didn't collect steam games until I discovered Humble and things have kind of gotten out of control since then XD. I figured I might as well celebrate the day when I first descended into madness :P.
Oddly enough, I first heard about bundles thanks to a Zero Punctation video where Yahtzee mentions after the credits that his book was part of a humble book bundle. If it weren't for that video, I very much doubt I would have discovered bundles and I would have probably went back to playing WoW instead of finding a whole slew of pc games that have pasted me by. Kinda weird when you think about it.
Anyways, here is the train that I promised.
Instead of bumping, please let me know how all of you found out about bundles. Kinda curious what some of the answers will be.
Edit: Forgot to add this, but my first was the Humble Indie Bundle 13.
