Yeah and the main issue is there is literally no alternative right now ... even paid one.
I was looking into getting the Premium on CrunchyRoll ( Kinda like Netflix but just for anime ) but its missing like half the stuff , and there are no older shows there :|

Thats the main issue ... i was thinking of subbing to CrunchyRoll or something ... but they lack like half the shows there :|
The weird thing is that even BakaBT is down , and they have been removing stuff that could be potentially claimed by Aniplex almost instantly ...
There was nice sized blacklist of shows that could be potentially dangerous and overall the database has been managed really careful .
Some major thing mustve happened that i kinda missed , for such a massive purge to happen

From what I've read they are currently having technical difficulties as well as some issues with their current host. It'll probably get sorted out sooner or later.
EDIT: I didn't read the date of the post in BakaBT, so you can ignore what I said

CrunchyRoll is tempting but... the quality of the subs, hnnng. Finding the right balance of accuracy and flow, without just outright replacing dialogue for easy substitutes? CR was good only for speed.
I suppose they beat the phonetic translations I have on some of my old DVD sets, which turned out to be bootlegs. Fullmetal Alchemist where the names constantly changed and were wrong, resulting in references to "Colonol Manstank" and "Guru Tony". Or a version of Elfen Lied where even the human sobs were subtitled, as "hoot hoot hoot", and the barks of a dog were similarly subtitled as "doggy doggy doggy".
What're we gonna do without the efforts of our fellow weebs to enrich us? :C

The thing is , MANY people wouldnt mind paying 5-10$ a month or like 50 a year for a quality anime streaming service ... The problem is such service does not exist .
Thats why we resort to fansubing and .. well piracy :)
I have donated several times small amounts to fan subbing groups cause i appreciate the effort , but i wouldnt mind putting that money in a legit service , its just crunchy isnt worth it with the quality they offer right now

It was , but then nyaa became just to convenient for everyone , and there ware people just releasing the pure raws there minutes after them being out.
So most groups tended to just use them since it was much easier . That way a lot of smaller fansub groups had access to the raw material and it did seem to affect positivelly both the speed and the quality of the subbing .
Going back to distributing stuff under the table , may be the end of many of the smaller fansub groups .
Its still early tho , lets hope im just paranoid and stuff gets sorted out

Maybe, a little delay won't kill me. Have been waiting 11 years for an english patch for Fate/Extra CCC (and still nothing yet T_T ), 10 years for a final season of Samurai Jack. I think I can live a week for a new episode of the anime of the season. Except if it's Fate, I would not be able to endure it.

Ah, I didn't understand half the terminology here.
My last anime times were VHS and DVDs.

Shame, it was a good site. Here's an article on Torrentfreak: https://torrentfreak.com/anime-torrent-site-nyaa-goes-down-after-domain-name-deactivation-170502/
It seems the HorribleSubs magnet links are still working.

Grim day for all the weebs , after years the owner of Nyaa seem to have finally given up under the pressure and just closed down the site ( at least that the official news circulating right now )
The domains seems to all be pending deletion as of this moment :|
Kinda worried about the next couple months until someone take over , most fansub groups used nyaa to get the base raws for subbing >.<
Uh well it is what it is , maybe the owner just saw the new Code Geass series trailer and shot himself in the head .,.. you know like any normal person would do .
Gibs 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 LVL 1+
PS: I dont want anyone starting the Piracy discussion or anything of the sorts ...
