I used FL studio with some free plugins and/or paid plugins included in the midi keyboard I bought.

I don't know enough about music composition to know what the proper terminology is, but I think your tracks rely too much on long notes; they just kinda drone on without much of a hook or catchy melody, and what little there is gets repeated a bit too much (especially Epic Battle, which sounds unfinished and like it's being played at half speed). You cite Chrono Trigger as inspiration, but even that game's slower songs have more recognizable melodies, like Secret Of The Forest (or, if you want snow-themed examples, Snowdin Town from Undertale or Freeze from Tales of Phantasia (SFC)).
I don't really know what to suggest besides...try not to use whole notes and dotted half notes so much. Also, try to change the melody up a bit when you want to "repeat" a segment (key changes aren't enough), and try not to "repeat" a segment more than twice before the song loops.

Hi, thanks for the constructive comment, it's something I'll look at and try to improve :)
Just to clarify one thing though, I never cited chrono trigger as an inspiration nor try to compare my half-assed compositions to that soundtrack. Someone just said that one of the songs reminded them of chrono trigger and I just said that I had listened a lot of it lately, but never tried to compose inspired by any specific soundtrack (at least consciously), since I'm trying to create my own sound.
Thanks again for the comment :)

I like the first track but boss battles are generally supposed to be exciting or scary... and the last track was neither of those things...?

Glad you like it :)
Well, the last track is still incomplete in my head, although I'm not sure how to finish it yet.
The idea behind it was not to be like scary or exciting, but in a way that you have to fight this battle despite knowing you're going to lose. Imagine that you are fighting the final boss too soon.
The idea is there, but still needs more refinement.
Thanks for checking it out :)

Well, if it made you remember Within Temptation, I consider it a big win.
Glad you liked them :)

Level 1.
Hi there folks,
I started to learn composing last year, mainly for video games since some friends and I are starting on game dev as a hobby and this helped me to finally decide to try it. Until now I have composed some stuff to get into it and I have uploaded the pieces I liked the most.
Here is my profile on soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/metalheadvgm
I only do this as a hobby on my free time (for now), so feel free to comment and give your opinion.
