Any minecraft players in here? Personally, I've stopped playing and won't pick it back up until 1.8 comes out. My last project failed because I got the stairs wrong and I couldn't be bothered fixing it because of 1.8 coming soon. Does anyone know any good way to make spiral staircases out of half-blocks for a 45 block diameter cylander?

I find Minecraft to be very overrated. It's a bloody Lego Game with a $20 pricetag; plus that fat ass sweden Notch is hinting the appearance of paid DLC.
Bought it because most of my friends kept bawing about it. I regret doing so, the game is so limited.

With Garry's Mod plus a little bit of a brain you can do everything with it. Even Minecraft itself.

From Notch's little blog on a post regarding Steam:

"Being on Steam limits a lot of what we're allowed to do with the game, and how we're allowed to talk to our users. We (probably?) wouldn't be able to, say, sell capes or have a map market place on minecraft.net that works with steam customers in a way that keeps Valve happy"

To summarize it: He wants all the DLC cash he is going to get from the 12 year olds who currently flood his game all for himself.

Also, that gigantic cunt is planning on selling Mods made by other people (he is already doing so, he is taking mods from the community, dumbing them down and applying them to the final product without crediting the maker, one example here is the pistons Idea and the NPC villages.): http://notch.tumblr.com/post/4955141617/the-plan-for-mods

Notch utterly disgusts me, and so does the Minecraft community who follows him like if he was a modern Socrates or something, even though they comprehend nothing of what he says and misinterpretate him a lot.

I told myself I wouldn't play anymore until 1.8, Then I got caught up in a massive abstract art project and have been playing non stop trying to finish it before 1.8.

I'm not playing until 1.8 is out because there are major terrain generation changes and the new world will be required.

I bought Minecraft during... 1.2? I still play regularly on a SMP server with friends and I have two worlds going in SP. It's fun but I don't make it my life like some rabid fanboys do.

An interesting game, I even have a local server where I play with my friends. I think that after the update 1.8 will play an even more interesting.
